Quisitive is currently hiring a Data Strategist to align with our delivery team in supporting customer technical platform solution strategies and implementations. The Data Strategist will partner with Quisitive customers across multiple industries to guide them through the complexities of data strategy development, transformation and leveraging data as a strategic asset within Microsoft Azure environments. The ability to understand a customer’s unique business and technical challenges and present tailored data solutions that achieve strategic business objectives is critical to the success of this role. 

This role can be located anywhere in the United States, but we would prefer Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, Phoenix or Tampa.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Developing comprehensive Azure platform data strategies, architecture design, data operating models and organizational structures that align with customer business objectives and digital transformation goals
  • Facilitating executive workshops to align stakeholder data vision and priorities
  • Leading customer data maturity assessments and creating actionable roadmaps for Azure platform efficiencies and improvements
  • Advising customers on Microsoft platform technology cost/benefit analysis and how to best leverage their Microsoft investments through the transformative process
  • Providing thought leadership on emerging Microsoft data and analytics trends
  • Identifying opportunities to monetize data assets and creating new business value

The Data Strategist must be able to:

  • Articulate strategic vision aligning customer data initiatives with business objectives and how an effective data strategy can create a competitive advantage
  • Position self as a trusted advisor by adhering to a “Customer Excellence” mindset through exceptional thought leadership, professional credibility, sales and delivery excellence, a connected customer experience and high customer satisfaction
  • Influencecustomer engagement and decisions to adopt and deploy Microsoft solutions by demonstrating a deep understanding of a customer's business and strategic priorities; drive digital transformation discussions; and understand the customer’s Microsoft licensing and funding options
  • Demonstrate business acumen through a comprehensive understanding of industry and market trends, competitive landscape, industry priorities and data & artificial intelligence (“AI”) technology impact
  • Collaborate effectively with Quisitive’s extended sales and technical delivery teams to identify and pursue strategic customer opportunities and build sales pipeline; work across customer IT, business units and leadership stakeholders to implement enterprise-wide data strategies and solutions
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of data architecture, governance frameworks, analytics platforms and emerging AI and Machine Learning (“ML”) technologies; experience developing end-to-end enterprise data solutions, intellectual property (“IP”), roadmaps and best practices
  • Drive change management by guiding organizations through data transformation initiatives
  • Articulate data valuation by quantifying to customers the business impact and ROI of data assets and initiatives

What’s required to be successful in this role?

  • 7+ years of experience in data management, analytics or related strategic advisory roles in the technology consulting services industry; track record of successful delivery of enterprise-wide Azure data transformation initiatives; strong working knowledge and track record in working within SQL Azure and cloud data solutions, data warehousing, reporting and data analytics workloads
  • Strong technical foundation in the Microsoft Azure data platform ecosystem, data architecture, quality management and metadata principles; ability to translate complex concepts into compelling narratives
  • Experience facilitating customer innovation workshops with the ability to guide customers through the “art of the possible” during the workshops; demonstrated ability to develop business cases and ROI analyses for Microsoft data initiatives; proven ability to rapidly prototype data solutions and demonstrate business value
  • Credible and professional appearance; exceptional presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to present complex data concepts through compelling, persuasive narratives and visualizations to C-level executives; consulting mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and experience translating complex data concepts into actionable insights and recommendations for executive stakeholders
  • Industry knowledge in one or more sectors (e.g., financial services, healthcare, consumer products, etc.)
  • A promoter of trust and teamwork with the ability to successfully handle multiple work streams and embrace change in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; ability to delegate, motivate and influence 
  • Desire to be a technical mentor and leader providing guidance on architecture principles, design patterns, and development best practices 
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, time management, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to travel when required (typically 10% - 20%) 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, computer science, engineering, mathematics or other related field

  • Relevant Microsoft Azure data platform certifications
  • Experience with Azure AI/ML implementation and data ethics frameworks
  • Change management expertise to drive adoption of new Azure data capabilities
  • Expertise in creating financial valuation models that capture tangible and intangible returns from data investments (i.e., ROI modeling)
  • Experience presenting economic value models to CFOs and finance leadership
  • Project management experience with Microsoft methodologies
