Specialist (m/f/x) Customs & Trade Compliance

At our plants in Halle/Westphalia and Bloomington/Indiana, we produce drugs for the treatment of various cancers and other life-threatening diseases. 

In the role as Specialist (m/f/x) Customs & Trade Compliance, your overall focus is ensuring and optimizing all customs and foreign trade law processes, including communication with authorities and risk management.

In your new role, you will be empowered to:

• Ensuring legally compliant import/export processing including customs tariffing, export control, sanctions list checks and communication with authorities (e.g. BAFA, customs)
• Development and optimization of customs processes as well as creation and implementation of internal training courses
• Maintaining usage books, stock control, inventories and communication with the main customs office
• Determination of the origin of goods, preparation of proofs of origin and preference, administration of the IHK-EUZ tool
• Support and compliance with requirements for AEO, C-TPAT, EA, ZA, tax warehouse and EMCS
• Creation and maintenance of internal work instructions for customs, foreign trade and tax-free products
• Contact person for authorities, conducting audits and external representation of the company
• Conducting internal audits, risk analyses and setting up control systems for customs and tax processes

What you'll bring:

• Completed Bachelor's degree or a comparable qualification
• At least 2 years of professional experience in customs compliance, import/export or international trade
• Sound knowledge of BAFA procedures, customs tariff classification and customs-related documentation
• Confident handling of SAP, ATLAS and other relevant tools in the area of trade compliance
• Strong organizational skills as well as a structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working
• Fluent in German and English required
