We are PlayStation Studios, home of multi-award winning developers of many beloved game franchises. Its a fantastic time to join us as we embark on our next adventure incorporating the latest advancements in machine learning and game development technologies across our portfolio of AAA games in development at our studios worldwide. To that end we’re searching for a talented Technical Product Manager to join the team! This person will be drive communication, program management and solicit feedback of centrally developed technologies and initiatives to ensure its smooth adoption, adaptation and integration into existing studio game development workflows.  The technical areas covered will have a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence as it relates to game development.

 

Responsibilities:  

  • As the individual responsible for key areas of varied technical programs you will partner closely with relevant leads to deliver on project goals and milestones. 

  • Manage the planning, scheduling and release of work, identifying risks and blockers to successful rollout and adoption 

  • Coordinate trials, proof of concept deployments, knowledge sharing and feedback gathering sessions for game development technologies and services across a diverse set of game studios and partner organizations in multiple timezones. 

  • Track and update project and program progress, delivering project documentation and status. 

  • Work with internal studios, our partners in the platform business group, and external partners on in-development projects to ensure quality on time delivery of centrally developed technology.  

  • Identify and prioritize common use cases and requests for new centrally developed technologies and services or enhancements to existing ones 

  • Ensure a common understanding and agreement on project scope, objectives and impact of any changes 

 

Skills required: 

  • Previous experience in a Producer or Product Manager role within the games industry. 

  • Experienced in project management using Jira, Confluence or other related tools. 

  • Experience of planning multiple projects from conception through completion and sunset with a mixed-discipline team using a variety of technology platforms 

  • Experience with AGILE sprint and milestone management. 

  • Demonstrated success in building strong working relationships with technical and creative stakeholders 

  • A proactive, methodical and detail orientated approach with the ability to communicate and influence effectively across studios. 

  • Break down complex initiatives, features or challenges into manageable portions and actionable steps 

  • Assimilate diverse information and assess the impact on each phase of production and on the project as a whole 

  • Identify groups that may be affected by a goal, actively solicit their input and follow up with strong execution 

  • Identify and mitigate project risks in consultation with key subject matter experts 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across product development and management teams globally 

  • Proven conflict management skills with a strength in mediation leading to resolution of risk and roadblocks 

  • Mastery of a variety of project management techniques in an internal development environment coupled with experience building and maintaining schedules 

 

Technical knowledge 

  • High level knowledge of generative AI and machine learning technologies, game development workflows, online technologies and general programming principles. 

  • A general interest in technical developments in games, proactively keeping up to date with industry trends. 

  • Nice to have - prior experience of modern scripting languages (e.g. Python)

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$141,700 - $212,500 USD
