Project Senior Producer 

 

Sony PlayStation Studios is seeking outstanding talent to join our passionate and creative family in crafting our next high-profile AAA console title. 

 
We are seeking a Senior Producer based on location in our LA studio, who will​ ​ be relied upon to collaborate with senior leadership, creative leads, and studio directors to develop, maintain and execute on project planning for the teams.  You are the strategic leader for the production team – so get out front and lead.  The ideal candidate will possess a combination of project management, communication skills, and a passion for making games.  Help us create our next AAA title that will stand apart from the rest! 

 

We are a newly established AAA studio based in Los Angeles, driven by a team of seasoned industry leaders and experienced game developers. Our mission is to create the next groundbreaking AAA original IP while reimagining the development process with a lean and highly efficient approach. Responsibilities:  

 

The Senior Producer is a key leader responsible for driving the production process to launch and plays a critical role in delivering a polished, high-caliber game. You oversee project timelines, budgets and resources, and ensure alignment between the creative vision and technical execution. You collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, facilitate communication, resolve roadblocks, and maintain a productive workflow. 

 

  • Lead and manage the production effort on the project to ensure quality and timeliness of the delivery. 

  • Operate as the owner of the production of the game teams, managing their roadmap and day-to-day operations. 

  • Utilize both agile and waterfall principles and processes to facilitate production of the game. 

  • Directly manage the production team including Producers, Associate Producers and Coordinators.     

  • Lead your team of production staff to manage the day-to-day tasking of team members from all disciplines. 

  • Facilitate and lead communication among team directors and leads. 

  • Guide your team through all phases of development, from design through final approval.   

  • Ensure all documentation, milestones and deliverables are tracked, scheduled, and budgeted. 

  • Effectively communicate objectives, expectations for success and the context that makes the objectives important to the project.   

  • Be your team’s communication link between studio leaders, internal teams, key stake holders and external resources. 

  • Craft and roll out processes that guide and improve development.   

  • Own the conversation with studio leadership to allocate and troubleshoot resourcing.    

  • Be vigilant about maintaining alignment on project scope, quality and objectives amongst the studio leadership.    

  • Foster and enhance positive/collaborative working relationships with the internal and external development team. 

  • Work with team managers to understand and support team members’ growth objectives. Participate in resolving personnel issues with the help of other producers and team managers. 

  • Participate in the yearly performance review process for your team. 

  • Follow necessary processes and procedures for product development to ensure company-wide policies are adhered to. 

 

Qualifications:  

 

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in game production  

  • Leadership contributions as a leader to the release of multiple AAA titles  

  • In-depth knowledge of project planning and tasking with the ability to monitor the progress of department milestones and individual tasks against those schedules  

  • Excellent organizational & prioritization skills, attention to detail, process knowledge and the ability to multi-task  

  • Experience working with JIRA, MS Project, MS Office (Excel), Smart Sheet, Miro, Trello, and bug tracking databases   

  • Deep understanding of Agile techniques such as SCRUM, as well as traditional production management (experience in a leadership role in a studio adapting to agile philosophies a significant plus) 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across Product Development and Management teams  

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills  

  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment  

  • Knowledgeable of current industry trends; stays up to date on competitive products and best practices  

  • Must love games and have a true passion for creating them!

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$153,300 - $229,900 USD
