As the Director of Portfolio Strategy and Planning, you will serve as a critical strategic leader within the Studio Business Group, responsible for shaping the long-term direction of our game portfolio. You will define and drive the portfolio investment strategy, optimizing the mix of titles to balance financial performance, strategic focus, and risk exposure. In this highly visible role, you will lead the evaluation of new game opportunities across all internal and external studios, oversee multi-year roadmap development, and deliver high-impact portfolio insights to executive leadership, including the CEO.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead SBG’s portfolio strategy, defining the optimal investment mix to achieve financial targets and manage risk.
- Evaluate new game concepts across all studios, balancing commercial opportunity, strategic fit, and development risk to inform greenlight decisions.
- Assess market fit of titles at every development stage, factoring in shifting audience trends and market conditions to guide strategic decision-making.
- Drive long-range portfolio planning and roadmap development, including financial modeling and 5-year title plan.
- Partner with senior leadership to lead portfolio reviews, assess publishing and delivery risks, and develop strategic mitigation plans.
- Drive alignment on the multi-year title roadmap and release strategy across publishing, platform, and studio teams to optimize launch timing, mitigate risk, and maximize portfolio impact.
- Lead long-term growth initiatives by identifying emerging market opportunities, genre white spaces, and innovation drivers to guide future content strategy.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, developing talent and ensuring delivery of actionable, business-critical insights that inform executive decision-making.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in corporate strategy, portfolio management, or strategic planning, ideally within gaming or entertainment.
- Proven track record of leading portfolio strategy and roadmap planning at a senior level, including experience balancing creative ambition with commercial and operational constraints.
- Deep understanding of game development lifecycles, publishing models, and market dynamics across platforms and regions.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; able to translate complex data into actionable strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate investment cases and make data-informed decisions across a diverse portfolio of products.
- Executive presence with experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership.
- Strategic thinker with a forward-looking mindset and ability to identify emerging trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$240,000 - $360,000 USD
