Role Overview:
The Senior Business Manager (SIEE) plays a key role in driving PlayStation’s strategic growth across the EMEA region. This individual manages the full lifecycle of commercial partnerships — from sourcing and evaluation through negotiation, structuring, and execution — across a wide range of partner types, including independent studios, strategic accounts, commercial accounts, and 2nd-party (2P) opportunities.
As the primary regional representative of the Global Business Development & Strategic Initiatives team, this role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders to develop and support impactful deals that align with Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) strategic and content portfolio objectives.
Additionally, this role is responsible for managing key operational and financial tracking functions, including financial fund tracking, recoupment reporting, and internal executive reporting processes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Effectively lead end-to-end deal process for Independent, Strategic, Commercial, and 2nd-Party partnerships in the EMEA region.
- Pro-active management of the global partnership negotiation process (i.e., from content discovery, internal evaluations/analyses to executive approvals, contract drafting, negotiation and execution), including schedule management.
- Establish long-term working relationships with developers and publishers throughout EEA to gain visibility into their future roadmaps & mutual business opportunities, and escalate and channel opportunities to leadership and adjacent departments/divisions as appropriate.
- Work in day-to-day partnership with other cross-functional teams, most notably the Account Management and go-to-market teams.
- Tenacious internal advocate for growing PlayStation’s business in EMEA, identifying both PlayStation’s strengths and weaknesses against growth, and providing thoughtful recommendations and action plans for the company
- In partnership with the commercial finance team, evaluate partnership opportunities through financial modeling (ROI, NPV, IRR) and strategic fit assessments.
- Manage due diligence processes and partner qualification for relevant third-party (3P) and second-party (2P) deals.
- Develop and evolve commercial frameworks and partnership models in collaboration with legal, finance, and product stakeholders.
- Prepare and present deal memos and approval documentation through internal stage gates and governance bodies.
- Maintain internal documentation, partner requirements, and commercial summaries.
- Track and manage global finance allocations and recoupment reporting for the region.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and peer teams on annual planning, KPI setting, and budget cycles.
- Develop compelling presentations and materials for internal stakeholders and external partners outlining commercial terms, rationale, and obligations.
- Represent the region in leadership meetings, providing insight on regional market trends and partner performance.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in the video game industry or a closely related field, with a proven track record of successful partner development and deal execution.
- Extensive knowledge of the PlayStation ecosystem — including hardware, software, services, and the broader gaming landscape (console, PC, mobile, and social).
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and familiarity with financial metrics such as NPV, IRR, and ROI.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; able to interface confidently with senior executives and external partners across diverse geographies.
- Deep passion for games and commitment to supporting creative talent.
- Ability to travel internationally for up to 30% of the time
Preferred Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field; equivalent professional experience also considered.
- 4 years of experience negotiating and executing publishing, licensing, development or marketing partnerships in the video games industry
- 3 years of experience working in or with game development teams & has a solid understanding of the game development processDemonstrated ability to manage multiple high-stakes, time-sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable synthesizing complex information for executive consumption.
- Proficiency with data tracking and reporting tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience working across global organizations and multicultural teams.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are a must!
