Director, Project Governance
The Director of Project Governance oversees and leads the development and implementation of project governance frameworks and policies. The primary focus is to ensure that all projects across the organization adhere to best practices, standards, and methodologies. The position works closely with senior leadership, project managers, and other key stakeholders to provide strategic direction, guidance, and support to ensure successful project delivery.
The role requires strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement organizational growth. The position understands the organization's challenges beyond the department and develops solutions in partnership with other department leaders to solve problems for their specific department or a larger segment of the company. The Director of Project Governance develops strategic plans for areas of responsibility based on corporate strategy. The Director’s strategic decisions are critical to functional/area performance and likely have a medium-term impact. The role manages change and develops risk mitigation plans.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, implement, and maintain project governance frameworks, standards, and policies to ensure consistent project management practices across the organization.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Project Management Office (PMO) and project teams to drive project success and alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks by implementing effective risk management strategies and processes.
- Ensure that all projects meet quality standards and deliverables through regular reviews, audits, and assessments.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, project managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, objectives, and priorities.
- Monitor project performance metrics
We would love to hear from you if:
- You have 15+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s or advanced degree, in establishing and maintaining governance frameworks to ensure compliance and accountability.
- You have deep understanding of methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Six Sigma for effective project execution.
- You have ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide strategic oversight for complex projects.
- You have experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- You have ability to manage budgets, forecast costs, and ensure financial discipline in project execution.
- You have skills to lead organizational change and ensure smooth transitions during project implementation.
- You have proficiency in using analytics and metrics to guide project decisions and measure success.
- You have capability to align project goals with organizational objectives and drive long-term success.

- You have expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- You have strong communication and negotiation skills to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
This position is available for remote work across most of the United States, except for the states listed below. SoundHound AI DOES NOT offer employment in Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Regardless of workplace arrangement, employees within a 60-mile radius of a SoundHound AI office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled, company-wide “core days” per month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration. The estimated salary for this position is $200,000 - $235,000 plus equity. In addition to salary and equity, you will receive comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits. Our recruiting team will provide a specific salary range based on location and years of experience.
