Location and Flexibility

This is a hybrid role. This model requires the ability to work in a hybrid mode from one of our offices in São Paulo (2 times/ week or 8 days/ month) or Porto Alegre (3 times/ week or 12 days/ month). Our WFN culture is designed to foster in-person innovation, collaboration, and connection with team members local and visiting from other global offices.

The Opportunity

As a Data & AI Manager, you’ll be the leader of one or more Data Science and AI teams building amazing data and AI-powered products for our clients, and you’ll help them achieve their personal and professional goals. You’ll also drive the team and our clients to use cutting-edge techniques and processes for the development of data solutions, and use your technical prowess to shape our deliveries. Success looks like an energized, happy team building high-quality data science and AI solutions for eager, engaged client stakeholders.

Responsibilities 

  • ​​Provide technical guidance to teams and projects for international clients
  • Be a mentor and a leader for Data Scientists and Machine Learning & AI Engineers, helping them grow in their career via goal-setting, coaching, and feedback.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data and analytics solutions while fostering collaboration and growth.
  • Apply your data science, machine learning, AI, and analytics knowledge to develop solutions that directly address and resolve business problems.
  • Work alongside Data Engineers and GenAI Engineers in data and AI projects
  • Stay up-to-date with data and analytics trends, tools, and frameworks, introducing innovations and process improvements to teams when appropriate.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams, advocating for the best use of Data and AI practices
  • Help develop the Data and Analytics practice in the company and support the growth of the team

Qualifications

  • You are driven by curiosity and enthusiasm about learning new technologies
  • Foster team autonomy and proactive engagement
  • Have 5+ years of professional experience in Data Science and/or AI, developing data solutions
  • Have managed a team of engineers building digital products and have been responsible for growing the people on the team through goal-setting, coaching, and feedback
  • Are comfortable having difficult conversations and always have your clients’ and teammates’ best interests in mind
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and Agile techniques for managing work, quality assurance, testing, and data evaluation
  • Have owned the delivery of a complete data project with code, models, or pipelines that are durable, improvable, secure, scalable, and thoroughly tested
  • Can simplify and communicate about complex problems around technology, business processes, user experience, and development tasks
