Associate Consultant/Consultant - Public Affairs/Policy Communications
The Role
We are looking for a strategically-minded Associate Consultant/Consultant to join our team in Brussels. Client work relating to EU policy will be central to the role, but there will be ample opportunity to be involved in Teneo’s broader suite of offers, including working with our experts in strategic communications across our European and global offices.
This is a newly created role resulting from Teneo’s continued growth, including in our Brussels office where our team work closely alongside 250+ colleagues across Continental Europe .
Associate Consultant/Consultant are the pillars of account coordination and provide strong project and time management. They are responsible for providing key insights and staying ahead of news and developments from main stakeholders. They work across sectors and projects to build skills and knowledge. They demonstrate good listening skills and have an analytical approach to identifying problems and potential solutions.
This role is based in Brussels and applicants must be fluent in English.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively manages the coordination of deadlines to support the whole team
- Prepares for and participates in client meetings, ensuring all appropriate materials/reports are ready
- Takes responsibility for coordinating meeting minutes and tracking actions
- Compiles regular analysis and summary reports for specific clients and for new business opportunities
- Regularly provides teams with competitor, stakeholder and sector intelligence
- Collaborates regularly with the Teneo EU offices as well as other global locations
Basic requirements
- For Associate Consultants, one-two years’ experience in public affairs and/or policy communications
- For Consultants, minimum three years’ of professional experience in public affairs and/or policy communications
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
- Possesses a structured and analytical writing style
- Evidence of collaboration/working as part of a team
Preferred requirements
- Experience in conducting research and generating insights for new business
- Ability to manage multiple client projects
- Reliable and responsive with a positive attitude and willingness to get involved
- Ability to demonstrate or effectively acquire in-depth knowledge of our clients' business and industries
- A degree in a relevant area such as economics, law, political, social, or communication sciences
