
Manager Training Lead - Retail Transformation Services
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions (TGCS) is seeking a hands-on and results-driven Training & Development Specialist to design, develop, and deliver specialized training programs for our retail clients. This individual will play a vital role in building and delivering impactful, scalable training solutions that equip retail teams, support staff, and trainers to succeed with our Point of Sale (POS) technology, primarily within the ELERA® ecosystem.
As part of the Retail Transformation Services team, the Client Lead Trainer & Content Developer will focus primarily on course development, content creation, and training delivery. The ideal candidate will be an experienced trainer and instructional designer who enjoys directly engaging with clients, managing multiple training tracks, and continuously enhancing course effectiveness based on feedback and product updates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Program Design & Development
- Design and build customer-facing training packages, including help desk operations, functional POS usage, and DevOps procedures.
- Create Train-the-Trainer programs that enable retail clients to scale their internal training capabilities.
- Develop both virtual and in-person curricula using modern e-learning platforms, tools, and instructional best practices.
- Integrate Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback and AI-assisted content development tools to iterate and refine training materials.
- Ensure training aligns with the latest product capabilities, especially within ELERA®-based solutions.
Training Delivery
- Facilitate live training sessions (both virtual and in-person) with customers’ project, technical, and support teams, as well as clients’ internal trainers.
- Lead interactive workshops, webinars, and user-focused sessions that enhance product understanding and effective system use.
- Serve as the primary delivery resource for new and updated training programs.
- Support client readiness by tailoring sessions to unique retailer needs and deployment schedules.
Content Development
- Develop high-quality training materials, including videos, guides, walkthroughs, presentations, and LMS-ready modules.
- Maintain a library of updated training assets that align with product releases and enhancements.
- Collaborate with Toshiba’s product, services, engineering, and support teams to translate technical information into user-friendly learning materials.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Support, and Services teams to ensure training meets business and client needs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by analyzing training effectiveness and implementing feedback loops.
- Maintain familiarity with new technologies, learning methods, and instructional innovations to continually improve offerings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in developing and delivering training programs in a technology, professional services, or retail environment.
- Direct experience in the retail industry is required; grocery retail experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, training facilitation, and course development.
- Experience delivering POS-related or enterprise software training is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with e-learning tools and platforms (LMS, webinars, video creation, etc.).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Must be willing to travel 25–50% for client training and workshops.
- Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools for training creation and customization is a plus.
