Operations Data Analyst Intern

Spring 2026 Internship: This position is located at our HQ in Durham, NC.  Expected program dates are January 20 – April 24, 2026. Anticipated working hours will be 20-to-30 per week, around class schedules.  Final hours and schedule will be determined between the intern and their manager.

Introduction: 

The Operations Data Analyst Intern will support the SG’s Finance and Operations Team to support the engine into a single source of truth that accelerates decision making, driving revenue growth and margin expansion, and scaling with discipline. This role goes beyond reporting. It is about building clean data foundations, improving system integrity, faster decision making with deeper insights, and enabling smarter execution across the division. 

Must Have: 

  • Must be local to Raleigh/Durham, NC Area. This is a hybrid role at least 1-2 days a week in person 
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to understand how business decisions flow through data 
  • High data hygiene instinct and attention to detail 
  • Ownership mindset with bias to improve systems, not just produce outputs 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a business-friendly way 
  • Some familiarity with LLM integration and Agentic System Knowledge (LLM, RAG, Prompt Engineering) is a big plus 

Responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain structured data pipelines using Salesforce, Excel, and Tableau to support forecasting, pipeline analytics, and performance tracking 
  • Clean, validate, and ensure integrity of opportunity, stage, and financial data to make it audit defensible and decision ready 
  • Develop KPI dashboards and insight views to support leadership reviews 
  • Automate manual workflows where possible using templates, macros, or AI assistance 
  • Document logic, definitions, and business assumptions with clarity and traceability 
  • Partner with Sales Ops, BizOps, and Strategic Finance to ensure alignment to a single source of truth 

Required Skills: 

  • Currently majoring in Computer Science / Business and in a degree seeking program (undergraduate or graduate) 
  • Advanced Excel proficiency including Power Query for ETL and data reshaping, ability to manage and optimize large structured datasets, and experience building automation via VBA or Python is a big plus. 
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to validate logic, not just calculate outputs 
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools such as Power BI 
  • Familiarity or comfort learning Salesforce data model 
  • Ability to communicate business ready insights and not just raw data summaries 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Exposure to SaaS revenue models, financial forecasting, or pipeline management 
  • Experience building dashboards or analytics for leadership consumption 
  • Foundational understanding of accounting, go to market operations, or sales and finance process mechanics 
  • Automation with AI assisted workflows, and process optimization 
  • Nice to have - Operational Analytics (pipeline health and lifecycle velocity, segmentation and ROI)
