The Head of Global API Sales will be a pivotal force in driving our global sales success across the API and CPaaS portfolio. This leader will spearhead our growth strategy by accelerating both direct and partner sales, seizing new market opportunities, and expanding our reach. With a global team reporting to them, they will chart new paths for growth, aligning cross-functional teams to fuel pipeline development and capitalize on market demand.

The Head of Global API Sales will not only lead and scale our global API sales organization but also drive revenue growth and reinforce our position as a market leader in the API and CPaaS spaces. What you will do

  • Design GTM Strategies: Develop go-to-market strategies in collaboration with key business units—including Product, Engineering, Marketing, and more—to ensure seamless integration and support for all sales initiatives.
  • Drive Global Business Transformation: Take a pivotal role in shaping and executing GTM strategies across the organization, influencing cross-functional teams to align with business goals and drive transformational growth.
  • Lead the Global API Sales Organization: Inspire and empower a high-performing global sales team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering an environment of motivation, skill development, and results.
  • Own Business Performance Monitoring: Oversee business metrics to measure success, identify trends, and recommend adjustments or initiatives to maximize outcomes and hit key targets.
  • Leverage Market Intelligence: Use market insights to refine and position our API/CPaaS product portfolio for GTM excellence, ensuring our offerings are competitive and market-ready.
  • Serve as GTM Leader for the API Business: Act as the GTM representative for the API business in forecast discussions, product reviews, business strategy meetings, and more.
  • Guide Strategic Planning: Offer expert input on growth targets, initiative prioritization, enablement needs, sales compensation strategies, and other crucial components of sales success for both long-term and annual planning cycles.
  • Analyze Marketing Impact: Conduct data-driven evaluations of marketing partnerships and campaign effectiveness to optimize impact.
  • Lead Economic and Budget Analysis: Manage budget planning and economic analysis for core products and initiatives to ensure financial alignment with business goals.
  • Align with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success: Partner with cross-functional teams to align on product offerings, market strategies, and customer engagement approaches.
  • Demonstrate Exceptional Leadership: Build and lead an engaged, high-performing sales organization, showcasing a proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent in a dynamic market.

What you will bring;

  • Extensive experience in sales and GTM development - with a strong understanding of the Communication API / CPaaS space
  • Proven track record in software sales within large, global matrixed organizations.
  • Experience in leading large sales teams in different geographical locations (200+ people)
  • Ability to inspire globally matrixed teams to share and follow defined best practices.
  • Successful history of collaborating with senior leaders to grow businesses across a diverse product portfolio.
  • Experience in being the voice of a BU. Attending events to spread the word.
  • In-depth understanding of market dynamics and drivers, with the ability to formulate and align sales GTM strategies.
  • A longstanding track record of sales excellence
  • Proven ability to attract, retain, and build/ develop high performing talent through recruitment, selecting, onboarding and consistent coaching.
  • Demonstrated skills of sales techniques, methodologies, customer interaction and customer relations. This is the heart of what we do.
  • Strong influencing skills at all organizational levels.
  • Superb forecasting and reporting capabilities with a solid grasp of key financial metrics, ROI assessment and market insights analysis for both short and long-term health of the business.
  • Established and consistent success in selling to large enterprise customers, with strong relationships at the C-suite level.
  • Excellent organization, communication, teamwork, presentation, problem solving and time management skills.
