Position Overview
The Research Specialist plays a key role in supporting clinical research operations by managing study training documentation, coordinating sponsor visits, processing confidentiality agreements, and maintaining subject tracking databases. This role requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams. No nights, weekends, or holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process CDAs, NDAs, and transfer letters to ensure compliance
- Coordinate internal and external routing of study contracts for signature
- Schedule and facilitate sponsor visits, including PSVs, SIVs, audits, and site tours
- Maintain enrollment tracking databases such as Access, G4, and master spreadsheets
- Oversee departmental and protocol-specific training documentation (e.g., CITI, IATA)
- Collect and manage annual Financial Interest Disclosure forms and related SOPs
- Assist with development and revision of departmental standard operating procedures
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors and sponsors
- Provide backup support for the Study Start-Up Specialist
- Maintain calendar and coordinate meetings, trainings, and events
- Ensure all documentation is audit-ready and compliant with research standards
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to team-oriented work environment
- Support onboarding and training of new employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in clinical research or a related administrative role
Skills & Abilities
- Strong organization and follow-up skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret scientific protocols and research data
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and email applications
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with research documentation, database management, and regulatory compliance
