Be at the forefront of shaping corporate governance for a global leader. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in company secretarial practice / subsidiary governance and make a tangible impact on WPP's operations across India and MENA.
You will lead a team of governance professionals and be a trusted advisor to the organisation, ensuring our subsidiary entities adhere to the highest standards of corporate governance and compliance. This is a chance to lead, innovate and build a robust governance framework that sets the benchmark for WPP's continued success in both regions.
Reporting to the Group Company Secretary, your responsibilities will include:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Serve as a subject matter expert: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safeguarding WPP's reputation and operations.
Subsidiaries:
- Shape the future: Develop and implement a best in class, principles-based governance framework for WPP India and MENA, harmonising local practices with global standards.
- Drive excellence: Oversee subsidiary compliance, identify process improvements, and champion a culture of good governance across the business.
- Lead with impact: Act as the Company Secretary lead on critical activities like M&A, financing, and reorganisations, directly influencing strategic decisions.
General:
- Trusted advisor: Provide expert counsel to the Group Company Secretary and the wider team, becoming a go-to resource for all things governance.
- Problem solver: Demonstrate agility and proactiveness in navigating complex situations, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
Governance Data and Consultations:
- Collaboration is key: Partner with stakeholders across the organisation, fostering a cohesive approach to governance.
- Industry influencer: Represent WPP in consultations, shaping the future of corporate governance practices in India.
Projects/Transactions:
- Drive transformation: Play a key role in the legal entity simplification project, streamlining operations for greater efficiency.
- Strategic partner: Contribute to RFPs for key suppliers, ensuring alignment with governance standards.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
- Qualified Company Secretary (ACS) with proven experience navigating the intricacies of Indian company law and corporate governance.
- Tech-savvy: Proficient in utilising relevant software and systems (e.g., GEMS, Diligent Entities) to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborative leader: A natural at building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Organised and detail-oriented: Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, prioritising and maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communicator: Articulate and confident in conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
