Are you a commercially savvy legal professional seeking a dynamic and impactful role? WPP, a global leader in creative transformation, is seeking a senior legal counsel to join our team in Milan.
This isn't your typical in-house role. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, advising on cutting-edge projects in the media and technology space, working with some of the world's most recognized brands. You'll be a key strategic partner to our commercial teams, providing expert legal guidance while fostering a culture of proactive risk management.
What you'll do:
- Navigate the complexities of the digital age: Draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of agreements, including media services, creative content, technology licenses, data processing and influencer partnerships.
- Drive strategic deal-making: Support the business on complex projects, ensuring legal compliance while maximizing commercial opportunities.
- Be a thought leader: Stay ahead of industry regulations and advise on emerging legal trends in social media, e-commerce, data privacy, and intellectual property.
- Empower the business: Provide training and guidance on risk management, compliance, and legal best practices.
- Collaborate and influence: Work closely with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and global legal teams to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
- Manage and mitigate risk: Oversee legal aspects of client pitches, renegotiations, and potential litigation.
What you'll bring:
- Relevant experience: Experience in a recognized commercial law firm and preferably in-house, with a focus on media, technology, or creative industries is desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills: Ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to commercial teams and clients.
- Commercial understanding: A solid grasp of business objectives and the ability to align legal strategies with commercial goals.
- Collaborative team player: A strong relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills.
