Finance is a crucial partner in this journey, ensuring we achieve our ambitious transformation goals, both operationally and financially. We are seeking a leader to drive our Enterprise Technology Recharge process.
What you'll be doing:
As the Enterprise Technology Recharge Senior Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing and optimising the financial mechanisms that underpin WPP's global technology operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Recharge Management: Taking full ownership of the Enterprise Technology (ET) recharge process, managing approximately $600 million in recharges distributed across WPP’s 110 markets and 3,000 reporting units.
- Process Innovation & Governance: Designing, developing, and implementing new, robust recharge processes and controls to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of all ET recharges.
- Critical Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivating and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with WPP's Networks and reporting units, serving as a key point of contact for all recharge-related matters.
- Team Leadership & Development: Leading and mentoring a high-performing shared service finance team of 6-10 professionals based in Mumbai. You will guide them through the entire recharge lifecycle, which includes:
- Effective communication of recharge details to operating companies (our internal clients).
- Streamlining the coordination of Purchase Orders (POs), invoice generation, and accurate transaction recording within the ERP system.
- Proactive management of intercompany settlements and resolution of any mismatch positions.
- Mitigating and managing foreign exchange (FX) exposure arising from ET recharges.
- Complex Dispute Resolution: Spearheading the dispute resolution process, engaging directly and effectively with senior leadership, including the Enterprise Technology CFO, CIOs, and Network CFOs and Controllers, to achieve timely and equitable outcomes.
- Financial Analysis & Compliance: Providing essential analytical support for tax and transfer pricing requirements, ensuring compliance and strategic financial positioning related to ET recharges.
What you'll need:
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Professional Qualification: A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Extensive Experience: Ideally, significant experience at a Senior Manager level from a Big Four firm, with a background in audit or consulting.
- Global/Matrix Environment Acumen: Experience working effectively within a complex, global, or matrix organizational structure (highly desirable).
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to quickly build rapport and influence a diverse range of stakeholders across various levels.
- Proactive Problem-Solver: A self-starter with strong initiative and exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced Data Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and pivot tables.
- Data Analytics Tools: Experience with data analytics tools such as Power Query, Power BI, and Alteryx is preferred.
- Shared Service Center Experience: Demonstrated experience managing or collaborating effectively with shared service centers.
- Exceptional Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong organizational abilities.
This is a fixed term contract role initially, with the potential for a permanent role.
