Commercial Strategy Intern - Summer 2026
WHO WE ARE:
Zinnia is simplifying how people buy, sell, and administer insurance products. Combining intuitive enterprise technology solutions and data insights with the streamlined, consumer-facing Policygenius marketplace, Zinnia is redesigning the insurance experience for shoppers, advisors, and insurers alike — and enabling more people to protect their financial futures along the way. Zinnia has over $173.7 billion in assets under administration across 60+ carrier clients, 350 distributors and partners, and over 2 million policyholders.
WHO YOU ARE:
The Commercial Strategy Intern supports the Wealth & Distribution team in developing and executing go-to-market strategies that align with Zinnia’s business objectives. You are motivated, analytical, and curious about how pricing, strategy, and client value intersect. You bring strong research skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into meaningful insights. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pricing analysis, commercial planning, and strategic decision-making within a growing financial technology organization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and market research to identify pricing trends, market dynamics, and opportunities for differentiation.
- Analyze customer, carrier, and market segment data to help guide strategic decisions that better meet client needs.
- Develop and document program processes, frameworks, and playbooks to support scalable commercial strategy execution.
- Prepare executive-ready materials, including presentations and dashboards, for leadership discussions and steering committee updates.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Strategy, Product, and Commercial teams to connect research insights to business priorities and product initiatives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Excellent communication skills — capable of summarizing complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Interest in strategy, pricing, product management, or commercial operations.
