Associate Director, Governance & Assurance
A Snapshot
As the Associate Director – Governance and Assurance based in our HQ in Sydney, you will report to the Quality Director and work closely with various teams and leadership across the APJ region, making your mark in a number of ways:
Asset Delivery assurance program
- Develop an assurance framework that drives conformance and continual improvement across:
- New market entry and campus Master planning
- Preliminary design process
- In-flight readiness
- In-flight design and construction
- Handover, close out and defect management
- Improve and implement the APAC Quality audit program
Asset Delivery Framework Governance
- Develop and document governance requirements across the asset delivery lifecycle stages and implement assurance activities to ensure effectiveness.
Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
- Drive improvement in the investigation and RCA process
- Lead the investigation of significant quality issues to determine the root cause and identify
- Coach and upskill the regional teams across APAC to improve investigation competence and the standard RCA.
Business lessons learnt and continual improvement
- Drive a disciplined approach to the identification and implementation of lessons learnt at the Asset Delivery business level.
- Analyse historical and current non-conformance, defect and lessons learnt data to identify key common themes and work with stakeholders determine and implement solutions and improvements.
Your Day to Day
Project Monitoring and Improvement:
- Regularly audit and review pre-flight and in-flight project management processes, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or gaps in workflows.
- Collaborate with teams to propose and implement process enhancements.
- Develop and improve audit and governance reporting to provide stakeholders with timely, data-driven insights for decision making
System Evaluation and Optimization:
- Assess the effectiveness of project management software and tools.
- Verify data accuracy and consistency within systems.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Review project status reports, portfolio reports and performance metrics.
- Validate data accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
Risk Management:
- Through a diligent audit, assurance and governance program, identify project risks (e.g., Safety, Quality, Time, Cost) and assess their impact.
- Coach teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Continuously monitor risk factors throughout project lifecycles.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Engage with project teams and internal stakeholders, and customer stakeholders.
- Provide feedback on project and business performance and compliance.
- Facilitate communication between project teams and senior management.
Quality Assurance and Lessons Learned:
- Verify adherence to quality standards in design and construction.
- Capture lessons learned from live and completed projects and follow-up implementation
- Use insights to improve processes and decision-making.
Requirements
Experience:
- Senior Level: 10+ years of relevant experience in project management, quality assurance, or related fields, including leadership roles.
- Have developed and led quality audit and governance programs for large, complex organisations.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business, or quality management).
- Quality audit qualifications.
- Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Lean Six Sigma are advantageous.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Understanding of quality management principles and methodologies.
Leadership and Communication:
- Strong leadership skills to guide teams and influence stakeholders.
- Confident communication and interpersonal abilities.
Analytical Thinking:
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Problem-solving skills to address process gaps and improve efficiency.
Industry Knowledge:
- Familiarity with construction industry and relevant regulations.
Adaptability and Continuous Learning:
- Willingness to adapt to changing environments and learn from experiences.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated on industry best practices.
- Ability to travel to AirTrunk project locations across our APJ footprint, or other locations as required.
