The Opportunity

This is not a “babysit the jobsite” superintendent role.

Alpha Inc. is looking for a Civil Superintendent who can take full ownership of complex civil projects on Kauaʻi—from planning through punch list—and deliver them with discipline, pride, and precision.

You’ll be the field leader: setting the tone for safety, quality, productivity, and culture on your projects. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with Foremen, Project Managers, and crews to turn plans into reality—while protecting people, schedules, and margins.

If you’re the kind of superintendent who commands respect without ego, thrives in the field, and believes great projects are built by great teams—this is your seat.

About Alpha Inc.

Alpha Inc. is a Hawaiʻi-owned leader in heavy civil construction, renewable energy, concrete services, drilling, and infrastructure solutions. We build work that lasts—projects that serve island communities for generations.

Everything we do is anchored by three core values:

  • Lead with Heart — Respect people. Protect crews. Do the right thing, even when it’s hard.
  • Strength in Unity — One crew, one mission. We win together.
  • Alpha Mentality — High standards, strong accountability, relentless execution.

As a Civil Superintendent, you are one of the most visible carriers of these values—on every jobsite, every day.

What You Will Do

As the Civil Superintendent, you are accountable for end-to-end field execution of assigned civil construction projects on Kauaʻi.

Own Jobsite Execution

  • Plan, organize, and direct daily construction activities in coordination with Project Managers and Foremen.
  • Develop and maintain work schedules aligned with crew availability, material deliveries, and project milestones.
  • Adjust plans proactively to account for weather, site conditions, and unforeseen challenges.

Lead Crews & Field Teams

  • Build, train, and lead high-performing field crews by assigning work based on skill sets and experience.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and clear communication.
  • Address jobsite conflicts or issues promptly, professionally, and respectfully.

Safety & Quality Leadership

  • Enforce Alpha Inc.’s safety policies and OSHA requirements across all jobsite activities.
  • Conduct safety training on tools, equipment, and proper use of protective gear.
  • Ensure all work meets Alpha’s quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Schedule, Budget & Controls

  • Track daily production, manpower, and equipment usage.
  • Monitor project costs and productivity; identify risks early and collaborate on corrective action.
  • Review and support change orders while balancing scope, schedule, and budget.

Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as the primary field point of contact for day-to-day project execution.
  • Participate in regular project meetings to report progress, resolve issues, and align next steps.
  • Read, interpret, and communicate drawings, plans, and specifications clearly to crews.

Professional Standards

  • Maintain compliance with all Alpha Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Keep jobsite documentation accurate and current.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

What You Bring

We’re not looking for just experience—we’re looking for judgment, leadership, and pride in execution.

Experience

  • 5+ years of successful, progressive experience in heavy civil construction required.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead jobsite operations from mobilization through close-out.
  • Experience coordinating crews, equipment, subcontractors, and project schedules.

Education & Technical Skills

  • Associate degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; MAC experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with HCSS, HeavyJob, or Adobe Acrobat preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints and clearly communicate scope to crews.

Leadership & Mindset

  • Calm, decisive leader who earns respect in the field.
  • Strong communicator who sets clear expectations and follows through.
  • Safety-first mindset with zero tolerance for shortcuts.
  • Lives Alpha’s values: Lead with Heart, Strength in Unity, Alpha Mentality.

  • Work for a company that invests in safety, people, and doing things the right way.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
