About the Role & Team

The Director of GTM Strategy, Planning, & Analytics team is a critical strategic leadership role leveraging data to drive insights and strategy, leading our annual and quarterly leadership cadence to align GTM strategy, goals and maximize performance across GTM leadership teams.  This role leads a highly talented team of analysts and planners, and is a highly cross functional role partnering closely with Finance, HR, CIO and GTM management, and is the expert on our GTM data, driving transparency and alignment across GTM on our critical performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Build, develop and nurture a high performing, highly engaged and talented team of analysts and planners, aligned to our Amplitude culture and values.
    • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members to foster growth and expertise.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the GTM organization.
  • Strategic Insights: Subject matter expert in GTM performance data, leveraging data into insights, creating transparency & alignment to achieve our strategy, performance & productivity.
    • Ensure alignment of GTM strategy, goals & KPIs across GTM, with one source of truth on performance, from board reporting to functional QBRs.
    • Data owner and subject matter expert on GTM performance metrics & data
    • Provide analysis, improvement and maintain integrity of our GTM segmentation
    • Enable GTM teams with the real-time data they need to effectively drive desired business outcomes and hit targets
    • Provide analysis & insights into performance, planning & strategy definition
    • Lead quarterly leadership & board reporting on performance & insights vs goals
    • Leverage external benchmarking to provide additional insights & opportunities
  • GTM Strategy & Strategic Initiatives: Leave the evolution of the GTM Strategy and initiatives to drive implementation of that strategy across GTM teams:
    • Identify & lead initiatives to create greater leverage, quality & impact of our GTM data, such as targeting, account, contact, and segmentation data.
    • Partner with CE to create one source of truth performance data for GTM, decide how best to leverage such data across teams and systems.

  • GTM Planning: Lead the GTM planning process and quarterly leadership cadence, ensuring alignment & transparency of goals & KPIs to strategy, driving GTM to maximize productivity and performance with available resources & expense.
    • Lead the streamlined & collaborative cross functional planning process, with transparency, good stakeholder engagement & on time with quality deliverables.
    • Lead the quarterly and Q+1 business reporting rhythm of business, ensuring accuracy and aligned data & analysis, coordination & communication of LT & Geo QBRs. 
    • Ensure we’re properly tying tops down plans to bottoms up, proactively identifying gaps, and getting the right people together to close those gaps
    • Help drive the right planning communications and cadences to ensure we’re staying on track and proactively solving for roadblocks
    • Give teams the tools that they need to effectively understand capacity + HC impacts to the business

Key Requirements:

  • 8+ years in successful technology leadership roles, in fast moving high tech environments, successfully leading GTM Strategy, Analytics, Operations or planning teams to achieve material business impact.
  • Excellent understanding of GTM strategies to accelerate growth & productivity across GTM, from Marketing, to Sales and Service.
  • Excellent data analytics and modeling skills, creating effective quality models on topics such as ARR, Renewals, Productivity, Capacity, Profitability etc.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication, and team leadership skills, combined with strong executive presence & gravitas.
  • Degree / Masters in business technology based subjects is preferred but not required

This role is eligible for equity, benefits and other forms of compensation.

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $222,000 - $333,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $201,000 - $302,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
