About the role

The Product Applications Intern, Signal & Connectivity, will support product applications work across the Aries and Taurus connectivity product lines within the Signal & Connectivity Group. This role is designed for a curious, hands-on student who wants to understand how silicon, hardware, software, and customer systems come together in real-world applications.

You will work with product applications engineers and cross-functional partners to evaluate products, investigate technical issues, support interoperability and validation activities, and turn technical findings into clear documentation. The internship offers exposure to both customer-oriented problem solving and the engineering workflows used to bring connectivity products into production.

What you will do

• Learn the architecture, interfaces, system use cases, and application considerations for Aries and Taurus products.

• Assist with lab bring-up, product evaluation, interoperability testing, characterization, and technical debug.

• Reproduce and investigate hardware, software, firmware, and system-level issues using structured test plans and engineering data.

• Analyze logs, measurements, and test results to identify patterns, summarize findings, and recommend next steps.

• Develop or improve scripts and lightweight automation to make testing, data collection, and analysis more efficient.

• Help create and maintain application notes, test reports, debug guides, product collateral, and other technical documentation.

• Collaborate with product applications, design, firmware, validation, systems, and field-facing teams to resolve issues and support customer use cases.

• Participate in technical discussions, communicate progress clearly, and present project results to technical and non-technical audiences.

What you bring

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.

• Coursework, project, laboratory, or research experience involving digital systems, computer architecture, hardware/software integration, embedded systems, or related areas.

• Interest in hands-on debugging and the ability to approach unfamiliar technical problems methodically.

• Experience with Python or another programming language for scripting, automation, or data analysis.

• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively across teams, ask thoughtful questions, and take ownership of defined projects.

Preferred experience

• Exposure to high-speed connectivity, system interoperability, networking, or protocol-based hardware.

• Experience working with lab equipment, test automation, logs, or structured engineering data.

• Familiarity with technical documentation, issue tracking, or software repositories.

Internship experience and compensation

This is a paid, hourly U.S. internship. The applicable hourly rate is determined as part of the offer process and specified in the offer letter, depending on education level ranges form $35/hour to $55/hour. U.S. interns currently receive a $500-per-week housing/relocation stipend for the duration of the internship. Interns participate in Early Career programming, including technical and professional-development sessions, community events, and an end-of-program project presentation.
