Position Overview

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will gain hands-on experience turning business and operational data into insights that support better decisions. You will work with cross-functional partners to collect, prepare, analyze, and visualize data; help improve reporting and data quality; and contribute to practical analytics and automation projects in a structured learning environment.

This is an opportunity to apply coursework and analytical skills to real-world business questions while learning how data moves across systems, how dashboards and reports are built for business users, and how automation can improve speed, accuracy, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the collection, organization, cleaning, transformation, and validation of data from spreadsheets, databases, and business systems.

• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators using tools such as Excel and Power BI.

• Write basic SQL queries to support reporting, data validation, trend analysis, and business questions.

• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.

• Assist with data modeling, report calculations, and the preparation of datasets for analysis under the guidance of experienced team members.

• Perform data-quality checks and help investigate inconsistencies or gaps in structured and imperfect data.

• Support recurring reporting, lightweight workflow automation, and process-improvement initiatives where applicable.

• Document data sources, business definitions, reporting logic, analysis steps, and workflow processes.

• Communicate findings and recommendations through clear written summaries, presentations, and discussions with business and technical stakeholders.

• Collaborate effectively with team members across functions and contribute to a positive, learning-oriented internship experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.

• Foundational experience with data analysis through coursework, projects, research, or prior experience.

• Familiarity with Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, lookups, charts, or basic dashboards.

• Familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or another data-analysis or programming language.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and curiosity about how data can improve business decisions.

• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to diverse audiences.

• Collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to learn new tools quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX, Tableau, Looker, or another business-intelligence and data-visualization platform.

• Familiarity with databases, data warehouses, ETL concepts, or data-quality practices.

• Exposure to workflow automation, cloud data platforms, or reporting governance through coursework or projects.

• Previous internship, research, project, or coursework experience related to business, operations, supply chain, or data analytics.

Internship experience and compensation

This is a paid, hourly U.S. internship. The applicable hourly rate is determined as part of the offer process and specified in the offer letter, depending on education level ranges form $35/hour to $55/hour. U.S. interns currently receive a $500-per-week housing/relocation stipend for the duration of the internship. Interns participate in Early Career programming, including technical and professional-development sessions, community events, and an end-of-program project presentation.
