Marketing Operations Specialist

Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position with approximately one in-office day per week preferred. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check. 

Essential Job Duties

As a Marketing Operations Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills in email marketing while being introduced to Marketing Operations. You’ll partner closely with our Email Marketing Managers - bringing their vision to life and uncovering key insights and recommendations for improvement. In addition to supporting email production, you will also have the opportunity to provide support in every area of Marketing Operations. (*While you must have marketing background, no prior experience with Marketo or marketing technologies is required – we will provide comprehensive training to equip you with the necessary knowledge and tools! )

Now, on to the specifics. In your day-to-day work you will:

  • Learn marketing operations best practices, including how to scale B2B marketing functions.
  • Collaborate with the Email Marketing Managers to assist in the development and execution of email marketing campaigns.
  • Learn to use email marketing platforms (such as Marketo) to build and deploy email campaigns, ensuring accuracy and proper formatting.
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) checks on emails to ensure all elements - including links, images, and personalization - are functioning correctly.
  • Respond to requests and tickets from marketing team stakeholders, identifying root causes and solving a variety of problems (such as lead routing issues, lead audits, and data questions).
  • Assist with the behind-the-scenes operational work that makes our marketing campaigns possible (such as setting up the technical backend for webinars).
  • Build scalable marketing processes, including using analytics to help the marketing team identify new areas of opportunity.
  • Assist Senior Marketing Operations Managers in larger-scale marketing operations projects, aligned to business objectives.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • You’ve gained 1-3 years of experience in basic marketing (Social, Email, etc.), or 1+ years of experience in Marketing Operations.
  • You have a growth mindset - you’re eager to learn, develop new skills, and face new challenges and ambiguity head-on.
  • You have a true passion for digital marketing and strong foundational understanding of marketing principles and concepts.
  • You’re a problem-solver - you love fixing inefficiencies, optimizing processes, and testing novel solutions.
  • You love analytics. Diving into data, interpreting it, and coming away with actionable insights is something you find energizing.
  • Your past coworkers would describe you as incredibly detail-oriented and organized. While people aren’t perfect, the accuracy of your work is pretty close to it!
  • You’re an excellent communicator and team player, with the ability to quickly build relationships of trust across the business.
  • You’re proficient in Google Sheets and Slides.

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You 

  • You’re familiar with the basics of Marketo or other email marketing platforms.
  • You’ve got a knack for interpersonal communication and you’re able to relate well and get along with others easily.
  • You’re familiar with basic data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).

  • Familiarity with SQL logic is also a plus (since Marketo logic is similar).

  • Strong preference for candidates who are able to work from our Draper, UT office 1+ times per week.
