Our customers share and collaborate on sensitive information stored in Box including personally identifiable information, intellectual property, and more. With cyber threats on the rise, IT security teams need to ensure that such sensitive information is not leaked from their Box instance. That’s why Box has security at its core and why is on a mission to tackle challenges of building information security products that work on petabyte scale. Identity and Security Foundations Team is focused on building frictionless security platform for other applications and features of Box solution. This platform is providing user authentication and authorization and ensuring secure internal and external communication. We’re looking for engineers who are excited about ensuring security for our Customers and expanding our security platform capabilities and are ready to jump on to any part of the development stack.
What you’ll do:
- Actively engage in Agile practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to promote teamwork and efficiency
- Actively participate in team meetings, one-on-one discussions with managers, and other collaborative sessions
- Support a culture of frequent, high-quality product releases, prioritizing value delivery to users
- Adapt to evolving priorities and feedback to continuously improve product quality and user satisfaction
- Take end-to-end responsibility for assigned tasks, from initial design through the refinement and successful delivery
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members, including engineers, designers, and product managers, to achieve project goals
- Contribute to building and strengthening the company culture in the Warsaw office
- Act as a representative of the Warsaw office both internally and externally to enhance its visibility and impact
- Share in the team’s production support responsibilities through an on-call rotation
- Work from the Warsaw office at least two days per week, fostering in-person collaboration
Who you are:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Be proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript or other modern software development language
- Have solid knowledge of server-side programming with frameworks like Node.js or React
- Have experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks
- Have proficient knowledge of software design
- Have an ability to analyze complex problems, design solutions, and execute them effectively, with a focus on high-quality, scalable code
Preferred skills:
- Prior experience in the security domain
- Experience working with distributed teams in different time zones
- Familiarity with designing, building, and maintaining microservice-based systems
- Experience in building responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using frameworks and libraries like React, Redux, Formik
- Experience with public cloud systems such as GCP, AWS or Azure
