About the Role:
Electrical Quality Assurance Specialist – Construction & Commissioning
Location: West Des Moines, IA
We are seeking experienced Electrical Quality Assurance Specialists to join our team and play a critical role during the construction and commissioning phases of a high-profile infrastructure project. In this role, you will ensure all electrical work meets rigorous project specifications, safety standards, and industry codes. Your expertise will be essential to delivering a safe, compliant, and fully operational facility on schedule.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct thorough field inspections during electrical construction and commissioning activities.
- Verify compliance with electrical design documents, project specifications, and applicable standards including NFPA, NEC, and TIA-942.
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC processes and documentation tailored for large-scale projects.
- Interpret and review complex electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and design specifications.
- Support commissioning teams by validating system functionality, performance, and safety prior to project turnover.
- Perform root cause analysis of electrical issues and collaborate with contractors and engineers to develop corrective actions.
- Participate actively in quality and safety audits, ensuring all findings are documented and resolved efficiently.
- Maintain detailed and accurate inspection reports, punch lists, and other quality records.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in electrical construction and commissioning, preferably on mission-critical or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems design, installation, and testing processes.
- Experience with QA/QC program development and execution.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and schematics.
- Hands-on knowledge of commissioning and validation practices for electrical equipment and systems.
- Skilled in performing root cause analysis and managing corrective/preventive actions.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NFPA, NEC, and TIA-942.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.

Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographically based ranges for Washington state: $ 85,000 to $92,400 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
