In This Role
In this role, you will serve as a Senior Data & Platform Engineer within an enterprise engineering team focused on building next-generation data platforms, prototypes, and distributed systems. You will design and optimize high-scale architectures, drive technical strategy, and solve complex data challenges that enable business-critical decision making. This position is hands-on with a strong emphasis on innovation, data quality, and platform reliability, requiring deep expertise in Python, Kusto, and Azure Synapse to manage, engineer, and maintain high-volume analytical environments.
Key Responsibilities

Architect and Develop Solutions: Design end-to-end data architectures involving software, infrastructure, communications, and integrations to support future scalability and cross-functional enterprise needs.

Build and Optimize Data Pipelines: Create highly available data pipelines and services working with billions of records, with focus on performance, reliability, and automated monitoring.

Data Governance & Quality: Conduct data validation, cleansing, and troubleshooting to address inaccuracies, misalignments, and provide engineered solutions for data hygiene.

Platform Management: Maintain common views, Kusto functions, analytical environments, and ensure compliance with technical standards and enterprise architecture guidelines.

Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and daily direction to engineering staff; develop coding patterns and best practices to drive platform excellence.

Monitoring & Observability: Develop monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to proactively detect and resolve platform issues before they impact downstream systems.

Operational Excellence: Evaluate workflows and system performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions to improve platform stability and development velocity.

Sprint Delivery: Collaborate in Agile ceremonies, manage tasks in ADO, and consistently meet sprint commitments and delivery timelines.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 8–10 years in data engineering, platform engineering, or database architecture roles.

Technical Expertise:

Advanced proficiency in Python (data engineering, automation, pipeline orchestration).

Deep experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Log Analytics, and Kusto Query Language (KQL).

Strong SQL development skills and experience in large-scale data pipeline architecture.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (required). Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Delivery Experience: Proven track record in building custom data solutions, designing enterprise architecture, and technical leadership across full development cycles.

Onsite Requirement: Must be willing to work 5 days onsite due to the nature of infrastructure and environment access.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience deploying distributed analytics platforms in regulated or mission-critical environments.

Familiarity with visualization and monitoring tools such as Power BI, Grafana, or Dynamics-based dashboards.

Prior leadership overseeing technical architecture decisions, vendor tool evaluations, and scalable data services.

Experience building production-grade prototypes using both front-end and back-end technologies.

Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and enterprise infrastructure standards.

Advanced problem-solving skills across data infrastructure, communication interfaces, and system integrations.

Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors, including—but not limited to—skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic-based ranges for Washington state: $140,000 to $160,000 USD annually, with a midpoint of $26.44/hour. The final salary/wage and job title for this opening will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may fall outside this range.
