Investment Banking Intern

Overview: 

Discover the world of investment banking and capital advisory with Chatham Financial. Our Summer Internship Program is designed to give you real-world exposure to capital markets while working alongside industry experts. Over the course of 10 weeks, you’ll be an integral member of our investment banking team; gaining hands-on experience through meaningful projects and developing critical skills in strategic corporate finance that will serve you well beyond the summer. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Assist in the preparation of client presentations, marketing materials, and pitch books. 
• Participate in team discussions about deal execution and client strategy. 
• Collaborate closely with analysts, associates, and senior bankers to learn the investment banking process. 
• Support deal teams with live capital markets transactions and strategic advisory assignments. 
• Conduct financial statement analysis, company and industry research, and valuation work (comparable companies, precedent transactions, DCF).

• The core principles and practices of investment banking across a range of advisory and financing activities. 
• How to analyze companies, industries, and financials in a real-world context. 
• Best practices for creating professional client materials. 
• Exposure to the deal lifecycle, from origination through execution. 
• Professional development skills including teamwork, communication, and problem solving in a fast-paced environment. 

Who We’re Looking For: 

• Candidates enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, entering their junior or senior year during Summer 2026. 
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. 
• Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn about investment banking. 
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. 
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.

The internship program will begin on June 1, 2026, and runs through August 7, 2026. Applicants must be available for the duration of the program, Monday – Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm, onsite in Chatham’s NYC office.   

For New York based candidates, the compensation range for the position is expected to be between $27.00 - $29.00 per hour.
