Bilingual Construction Safety Associate (English-Spanish)
Position Overview:
CMI is seeking a Bilingual Construction Safety Associate to support safety compliance and best practices on pharmaceutical construction projects. Working for a subcontractor, this role involves mentoring, training, and enforcing safety protocols to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safety training, mentorship, and guidance to site personnel.
- Promote a strong safety culture through education and engagement.
- Conduct site observations, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Lead pre-task planning, job safety analyses (JSAs), and permit approvals.
- Facilitate site-specific orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings as required.
- Prepare and submit safety reports as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of direct construction safety experience.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) required.
- Expertise in fall protection, cranes, rigging, scaffolding, and working at heights.
- Pharmaceutical construction experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction safety standards.
- Preferably experienced in ground-up construction safety oversight.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.
Education & Certifications:
- OSHA 30 (within the last 5 years) & OSHA 510 required.
- BCSP certifications (STSC, CHST, CSP) preferred.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, stoop, crawl, and bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
- Background check and potential drug screening required.
- Flexible hours and overtime may be necessary based on project needs.
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
