Material Allocation Coordinator
OVERVIEW
Starting wage for the Inventory Manager is based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Construction Resources offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits.
The Material Allocation Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the allocation, tracking, and delivery of construction materials across multiple job sites. This role ensures that all necessary materials are available when needed to maintain project timelines and minimize downtime. The Material Allocation Coordinator role is designed to efficiently increase and improve production of products to meet customers’ specific orders.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating, executing, and reporting inventory counts.
- Coordinate the distribution and allocation of construction materials to various project sites based on project schedules and priorities.
- Monitor material inventories and work with procurement teams to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and warehouse staff to forecast material requirements.
- Track material deliveries and resolve any discrepancies or delays with suppliers and logistics providers.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage, transfers, and surplus returns.
- Implement material handling and storage best practices to reduce waste and damage.
- Assist in the development of material allocation strategies for new and ongoing projects.
- Communicate regularly with internal teams to adjust plans based on changing project needs or timelines.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in material coordination, inventory management, or logistics, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and inventory or ERP software (e.g., Procore, SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Highly analytical, strategic thinker, problem solver.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in logistics, supply chain, or construction management
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 3 years of stone industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of construction industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience.
