Data Engineer
We are looking for a Data Engineer for our team. The Data Engineer facilitates the flow of massive quantities of raw files from various disparate locations into well-harmonized tables. Much is made of the potential to use data to solve the world’s problems – the data engineer knows that this “data” is useless unless it can be organized into analyzable bits...and it's most likely a mess. No problem: data engineers are at the vanguard of the Marketing Science team, taking basic and essentially unusable information and refining it into the stuff of predictive models. At the forefront of our marketing science organization, the data engineer solves problems “on the ground,” often with little documentation and vague direction from business stakeholders; they pave the way for fruitful analysis by turning chaos into an operational process.
You will:
- Automate manual processes through SQL, python, etc.
- Define solutions for using, extracting, and manipulating data as driven by the business need for knowledge and decision-making.
- Analyze documentation and propose data extraction solutions
- Write code that uses APIs to download and upload data
- Continuously improve the efficiency of existing automation to make it faster, cheaper and smarter
- Provide the “voice of reason” that keeps the rest of the team grounded in what is possible and by when
- Understand the nuances of the analysis required
- Explain the complexities involved with data extraction to analysts
- Work closely with the rest of the MKS and account teams to understand the business context of the account
- Stay up to date on the latest industry news and analysis techniques
- Assist in tagging and data infrastructure design
You have:
- Fluent in English (minimum B2+ reading, writing, and conversation)
- 1+ years of experience using SQL, python, or working with APIs
- 1+ years of experience designing ETL solutions
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly from a wide range of different subjects
- Data savvy individual with good knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL queries. We need a person who understands database components like schemas, tables, stored procedures, triggers, DDM and DDL commands, and data management.
- Mastery of office productivity tools such as Excel, Word, MS Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge with Adobe Campaign ETL manager
- Salesforce Knowledge
What We Offer:
- Competitive benefits packages
- Vacation, compassionate leave, sick days, and flex days
- Access to online services for families and new parents
- End of year closure days (not deducted form vacation balance)
- Diversity and Inclusion Board with 12 affinity groups
- Internal learning and development programs
- And more…
