JOB PURPOSE

We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Employment Law Specialist to join our People team. In this role, you will support employment law matters daily and contribute to long-term compliance projects. The core focus of the role is to support the team in the Netherlands, but there are also opportunities to support EMEA-wide projects. 

Reporting to the Employment Counsel EMEA (based in the Netherlands), you will play a key role in ensuring compliance within our People function. You will handle various employment law questions, you will prepare various  labour law related documents,  support HR policies, and assist with global mobility and regulatory compliance.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about employment law, HR compliance, global mobility, and workforce regulations. You will work closely with your colleagues in the People team and with business leaders, so a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guidance on employment law matters, mostly focussed on the Netherlands, but there are opportunities to support in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support compliance related to immigration, work permits, and cross-border employment.
  • Support the HR team and business leaders with questions related to contracts, policies, terminations, and workplace regulations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments in employment law and advise on necessary adjustments.
  • You are the link between the regional Employment Law Counsel, the People team, and the business teams;
  • In addition to your supporting role, you actively contribute to strengthening our culture.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Have a minimum HBO thinking and working level preferably in a legal discipline;
  • Have work experience in employment law, preferably within a fast pasted company;
  • Have knowledge of HR policies, procedures, local labour law and compliance;
  • Can bring fresh thinking and energy to the team with a can-do mentality;
  • Are punctual, proactive, have a positive attitude and can work independently;
  • Communicate clearly, take ownership over your actions and think in solutions;
  • Master the Dutch and English languages in word and writing.
