Job Description:

Dynamo Technologies LLC is currently seeking a Drupal Developer to support our The U.S. Forest Service (FS) client. This project will support website modernization and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) using agile development.

Duties/ Responsibilities 

  • Maintain and update existing websites and web applications functionality including but not limited to Agency public-facing and internal facing Drupal/PHP CMS and legacy static/PHP websites.
  • Develop and maintain Forest Service Agency public-facing websites using various web technologies, to include but not limited to Drupal versions 9, 10 and above CMS websites, based on the USDA Digital Strategy Playbook and U.S. Web Design System, and comply with the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act (https://digital.gov/resources/21stcentury-integrated-digital-experience-act/).
  • Deploy Agency websites in a centralized, large-scale environment and within an architecture that easily facilitates the management of common theme(s), modules or other shared components for large scale and/or standalone websites.
  • Design, develop, test, migrate and maintain the implementation of existing Forest Service public-facing and internal-facing web sites and web applications and web components some of which may be currently hosted on external partner domains.
  • Integrate and maintain websites and web applications and systems with other internal and external applications, tools and databases.
  • Use Agency approved and specified GitHub repository to store source code, document code, release packages, and associated artifacts.
  • Oversee development activities for project and provide upwards reporting to the Program Manager.
  • Write clean and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards.
  • Support new projects and tasks for software development projects as requested by the government.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Expertise in Drupal 9/10 development.
  • Experienced with custom module and theme development.
  • Strong PHP development experience.
  • Front-end expertise – Experience with Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks.
  • Database management – Proficiency with MySQL/MariaDB and familiarity with database optimization.
  • Experience with Drupal API and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Composer and Drush.
  • Security best practices – Familiarity with Drupal security standards and OWASP guidelines.
  • Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions including data, display, and information architecture.
  • Strong understanding of performance optimization, caching strategies. and page speed improvements.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines – Git, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLC).
  • U.S Citizenship required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in IT, Software Engineering, or a related field (If no degree, then 11+ years of development experience is required).

  • 7+ years of development experience

Remote Salary Range

$125,000 - $135,000 USD
