Head of Clinical

UK - HQ - London

About Euc

We’re making good health last a lifetime

More than 1 billion people globally live with obesity, a major leading indicator of many preventable chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.

Eucalyptus is the company behind Juniper, one of the world’s largest weight management programs combining GLP-1 medication with a tailored nutrition and exercise programme, supported by our multidisciplinary care team of prescribers, health coaches, dietitians, nurses and pharmacists.

Our published clinical research demonstrates that our combined approach to weight management and lifestyle change increases the likelihood of our patients losing significant weight during their treatment with Juniper by four times.

Since launching, we’ve grown fast to support millions of patients. In the last 12 months:

  • We grew the size of our patient base by 10x in the UK, received selective NICE endorsement for our holistic approach to obesity management, and grew our team from 50 to 200.
  • Globally, we grew revenue by >120% YoY, while reducing cash burned by 90% YoY, with over $100M USD raised from global investors such as BOND, NewView, Blackbird and Airtree - early backers of companies like Canva, Stripe, Uber and Airbnb.

What’s next?

In 2025, we are charting the path to support hundreds of thousands of patients while launching into new conditions, demographics, and geographies as we move towards our vision of creating a preventive healthcare ecosystem.

We’re building the world’s largest international digital healthcare company. This will be highly challenging, very rewarding and the adventure of a lifetime, working with the best operators you will ever encounter.

If that gets you excited, let’s talk!

About The Role

Clinical Operations is at the heart of what we do as a healthcare business. As our patient base expands rapidly across a broader range of conditions and treatments, we are seeking an experienced clinical leader to scale this function safely, effectively, and with the highest ambition.

You’ll take immediate responsibility for a team of 40+ UK-based prescribers (with plans for this workforce to double), working closely with them to deliver outstanding clinical care while meeting our commercial goals. This team supports thousands of patients daily and is critical in ensuring that medications are prescribed safely, efficiently, and compassionately. Ultimately, the goal of the function is to design best-in-class clinical interactions and then utilise technology to make them accessible to more people.

With new clinics and treatments launching in 2025 and beyond, our clinical operations are entering a new phase of complexity and scale. This role demands a unique combination of strong strategic thinking, exceptional bias to action, and seasoned clinical leadership.

This role will report directly to our VP of Operations UK, Gianluca Uberti and will work closely with:

  • Rebecca Holdt, Chief Commercial Officer (London, UK)
  • Dr Matt Vickers, Clinical Director (Sydney AU)
  • Clinical, Product, Operations, and Data leaders across the UK and the global team

While this role is focused on the UK, it has clear potential to grow into a cross-market leadership role as we expand across Europe and beyond.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Build and scale a high-impact clinical workforce – Launch new clinical offerings, sharpen prescribing protocols, and grow a world-class prescriber team equipped to deliver safe, effective care across rapidly expanding treatment areas.
  • Supercharge performance with data, AI, and automation – Own the entire clinical performance funnel, using insight and technology to eliminate friction, improve decision quality, and lift patient outcomes at scale.
  • Raise the bar on safety and global clinical standards – Design and lead robust clinical governance systems, oversee incident reviews, and shape cross-market standards that ensure consistency, compliance, and clinical excellence.
  • Be the voice of Eucalyptus in the healthcare ecosystem – Represent our mission and model of care in external forums, partnerships, and industry conversations, helping establish Eucalyptus as the global leader in digital health and preventive care.

What We Expect From You

  • You are accountable for every part of the clinical funnel — from how quickly and safely we prescribe, to how consistently we coach and develop our clinicians.
  • You’ll ensure we deliver care against agreed safety and quality standards at scale, while hitting commercial goals on efficiency, conversion, and cost.
  • You’ll raise the bar through clear performance management and be the final decision-maker on hiring, structure, and development within the clinical team.
  • You’ll drive clarity, accountability, and ambition across your function, and act as a coach to other leaders across the UK business.
  • You’ll help define how clinical care is delivered across our international footprint — combining hands-on leadership with a systems mindset.

About you (Who you are)

Skills & Experience

  • Operator with clinical depth – You bring 7+ years of experience across both clinical and commercial environments. You’re a medical graduate or have deep operational experience in healthcare, combined with time in consulting, tech, venture, or a fast-paced startup.
  • Built for scale – You’ve scaled clinical teams or functions in high-growth environments, and know how to design for both safety and speed. You’ve managed clinical workforces delivering care at volume, ideally in digital or tech-enabled settings.
  • Operator’s mindset – You move easily between strategy and execution. You’ve led complex, multi-stakeholder projects and can turn big ideas into systems, processes, and outcomes.
  • Data fluent – You’re comfortable working with clinical and operational data to drive insight, identify performance gaps, and implement scalable improvements.
  • Fluent in tech and AI – You’ve worked with or implemented tech-enabled workflows, including automation or AI, to improve clinical outcomes, safety, or efficiency.
  • Clinically credible – You’re a registered doctor (GMC or equivalent), ideally with PGY4+ level experience — you’ve seen enough of real-world clinical care to lead with confidence and judgment.

Behaviours & Attitudes

  • Acts like an owner – You take full responsibility for outcomes. You know when to lead from the front and when to empower others to do their best work.
  • Relentlessly patient-first – You’re deeply motivated to improve care quality and patient outcomes. You never lose sight of who we serve.
  • High standards, low ego – You move fast, expect excellence, and stay humble. You give and receive feedback well and lead with accountability.
