Who You Are:

We are seeking an experienced Health and Human Safety Manager based in Afton, TX. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and implement comprehensive workplace safety programs that address traditional occupational hazards and unique challenges of a data facility while monitoring for compliance.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
  • Collaborate with management to update an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintain a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
  • Recommend procedures for detection, prevention, and elimination of physical, chemical, or other hazards.
  • Monitor environmental conditions including air quality, temperature, humidity, and noise levels to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all safety related matters, attend safety meetings, and develop and maintain relationships with local emergency response agencies.
  • Compile and provide regular safety performance reports to senior management.
  • Write and revise safety protocols at the organizational level.
  • Perform regular safety inspections of all facility areas, including server rooms, office spaces, and common areas to ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards
  • Participate in team meetings and provide regular on-site project presence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 6 years large scale commercial, government, or industrial project management experience, including at least 4 years management level safety professional experience
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards plus familiarity with 29 CFR highly desired
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, keen evaluation skills, and solutions oriented
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

Working Conditions: 

Helios facility in West Texas with 365 24/7 operations. The facility is 125,000 sq ft data center/warehouse which experiences the extreme West Texas weather depending on the season. The role requires climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and potential lifting of up to 50 pounds. There is potential for loud noises, use of hand tools, and electrical components along with the use of Office Suite, Slack, Zoom and other standard office equipment. Working hours are normally M-F with nights and weekends as needed.
