Assistant Controller, Fund Finance

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Fund Finance, ICONIQ is seeking an experienced accounting professional. This role is a Senior Associate with primary responsibilities related to supporting ICONIQ’s Real Estate Team and our Open-Ended Real Estate Fund. This role will require specialized experience in Real Estate Fund Accounting as well as experience dealing with property level accounting as well.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive success to the operations and administration of ICONIQ’s Open-Ended Real Estate Fund.
  • Manage the day-to-day oversight for key relationships with global best-in-class service providers (fund administration, external valuations service provider, public accounting firm).
  • Work with the Investment, Finance, and external fund administrator teams to process capital calls, distributions, wire transfers, and investor updates.
  • Assist the Real Estate Team as needed with a flexible ability to be able to work effectively with third party property managers, operating partners, joint venture executives and lenders.
  • Assist with review of quarterly valuation analysis and play a key role on the valuation committee.
  • Assist in review of quarterly GAAP financial statements and Limited Partner reporting packages prepared by fund administrator.
  • Support Finance team with special projects including preparing slides, maintaining dashboards, and providing ad-hoc reporting.

 

Ideal Candidate Background:

  • 6+ years of experience in public accounting, industry fund accounting - experience in real estate at an investment manager and/or relevant experience at a global fund administration firm is a must.
  • Technical expertise in open ended fund structures, REITs, real estate accounting experience (operating/non-operating models/equity pickup models/fair value accounting) is highly desired.
  • Technical knowledge regarding investment valuations under Investment company accounting guidance – ASC 820.
  • Has general tax knowledge and experience specific to real estate investments and fund structures.
  • CPA certification is preferred, NCREIF membership/familiarity is a plus.
  • Experience in software packages such as Yardi and Investran is a plus.

Location: Applicants are expected to work onsite in our New York office in accordance with our hybrid working policy.

 

Compensation Range: ICONIQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At ICONIQ, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation terms. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $155,000 - $175,000 together with the benefits listed above.
