Assistant Controller
Seeking to hire an experienced Assistant Controller to join their Fund Finance team.This individual will report directly to the Controller, and as a member of the Fund Finance team would be supporting the investing, administration and operations of our General Partner (GP) Funds, Co-investments, and SPVs for a number of strategies.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with the existing Assistant Controller to manage all day to day aspects of operations of our GP funds, co-investments, and special purpose vehicles. Including review of workpapers.
- Work with the team to drive capital planning for our GP funds including activities such as: capital call planning, managing margin accounts and distribution planning.
- Work with investment team leads, internal & external counsel, and other members of the ICONIQ to support deal funding operations, as well as structuring considerations for our legal structures.
- Review of quarterly valuation analysis completed by our valuations group. Manage the review process of exhibits for the valuation committee meeting.
- Assist with the day to day oversight for key vendor relationships, including vendor management duties to ensure a high level of service to our investors. (Fund administrator, Custodian, Audit & Tax service providers).
- Partner with the existing team and Head of Data to design and implement a data strategy for the Merchant Bank, and support exploration, validation, and implementation exercises for a complex data strategy that will involve centralization and ownership of data within our Datawarehouse (Snowflake), and reporting layer (Tableau) to enhance and automate internal capabilities on reporting and data reconciliation.
Ideal Candidate Background:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience. In-house experience at an Investment Firm specialized in Fund Accounting and General Partnership accounting as a plus.
- Exceptional documentation skills, easily able to document processes, and controls, and drive projects related to the setup of policies and procedures.
- Technical expertise in Investment Company Accounting, Investment valuations under Investment company accounting guidance – ASC 820, General tax knowledge and experience specific to partnerships, and experience working with complex fund structures.
- Experience in implementation of software packages such as Investran or competing products or working on complex data migration projects.
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in business/accounting/economics/finance.
- CPA is a plus.

Location: Applicants are expected to work onsite in our New York or San Francisco office in accordance with our hybrid working policy.
Compensation Range: ICONIQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At ICONIQ, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation terms. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $155,000-$180,000 together with the benefits listed above.
