Assistant Superintendent – Paving Group

Keeley Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the planning, coordination, and execution of paving projects. This role works closely with the Superintendent and project team to help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent in coordinating project activities, including scheduling, resource planning, and daily site operations.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support by maintaining daily logs, reports, and project documentation.
  • Support communication between project managers, subcontractors, field teams, and clients to ensure project alignment.
  • Help track project progress and assist in identifying and escalating issues that may impact timelines or quality.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, material deliveries, and workforce logistics to support efficient operations.
  • Assist with quality control processes by tracking inspections and ensuring work aligns with project specifications.
  • Support safety efforts by helping monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Maintain organized records related to safety, progress, and field activities.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports and updates for internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Help manage relationships with subcontractors and support issue resolution as directed by the Superintendent.
  • Assist with procurement coordination and tracking of materials and equipment to avoid delays.
  • Promote a positive work environment and support adherence to company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in construction or paving industry preferred (1–3 years ideal).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment under the direction of a Superintendent.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes and safety practices preferred.
  • Ability to travel 3–4 days per week as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
