ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Technical Development Intern to join the KHAITE Wovens' team. This role will report to the Director of Wovens Technical Design and will be based out of the NYC HQ offices. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Design/Product team to execute samples for the woven/leather/jersey categories.
• Prepare samples and fitting tools, model supplies for fittings.
• Assist in fittings (taking fitting notes)
• Assist pattern makers for pattern corrections as needed
• Assist creating tech packs for initial development thru Sales-Man-Samples
• Assist a transition between development and production after Sales-Man-Samples are made
• Update tech packs, follow up with pattern makers to update patterns, and double check cutters must are correct along with tech pack information
• Visit local factories/ vendors to assist on style/package handoff
• Assist design to update flat sketches as needed after fitting
• Assist the product team with daily tasks

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Interpersonal Skills:

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and dynamically align to changing business conditions
• Keen interest for fashion and eagerness to immerse themselves in the industry

 

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or currently enrolled for a Bachelor's Degree); preferably in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Technical Design, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of garment construction, fit, and sewing techniques; with a particular interest in woven materials
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as the Google Suite, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop

The hourly rate is $16.00/hr.
