We’re looking for a Senior Manager, People Business Partners to join our North America People and Culture team. You will report into our Head of People and Culture NOAM. Playing a central role in our success, you'll have a direct impact on Lightspeed's ability to attract, retain and grow the best talent to build our company. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Strategic partnership with the business by being fully aligned with your business leaders (i.e. understanding current business needs and by anticipating future requirements).
  • Partner with our centers of expertise, identify innovative solutions that positively impact the employee experience
  • Participate actively in complex projects that span across functions, regions and segments.
  • Partner with upper management (Director +) as a trusted advisor. 
  • Influence lasting change and play a critical role in enhancing leadership effectiveness, including the enablement of business leaders to cultivate an effective leadership pipeline. 
  • Manage talent effectively to ensure we have the right people in the right roles. 
  • Drive employee-related initiatives with your communication, coaching and influencing skills, and offer thought leadership in areas such as Career development, Talent Reviews, Employee Engagement, Compensation management, etc.
  • Help build organizational health by providing insightful data to guide decision making and proactive solutioning.
  • Take on any additional special projects as required by your client groups or People & Culture team

What you need to bring:

We’re a team of 30 people located in North America. This role is a key support to the function that cares for our greatest asset: our people! 

We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a Business Partner function
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) in English and in French 
  • Bachelor degree in HR (Master degree asset)
  • Experience working in international matrix organization and on large, global and complex projects that span across the organization
  • Ability to quickly build trusted relationships and credibility with various types of personalities and with executives (C-level)
  • Ability to have difficult conversations and provide feedback
  • Out-of-the-box and forward thinking.
  • Desire to alternate between strategy and tactical execution
  • Project management expertise and known for planning skills and strategic thinking
  • Team management experience
