Supervisor, Consumer Insights (Director, Research & Insights)

Research & Insights is a specialty practice at M Booth that provides a wide range of consumer, brand and cultural research, data and insights for clients across the agency. The Research & Insights team is full-service, delivering solutions ranging from primary quantitative studies and global surveys to qualitative research such as IDIs and message testing to audience segmentation. We scour databases and reports - along with using innovative AI-based tools and proprietary research - to mine for breaking cultural trends and cultural shifts and find ownable spaces for brands and executives who need a distinct POV and thought leadership platform.

Our work helps teams, clients and brands understand their consumer audiences better, delivers insights about attitudes and behaviors that shape strategies, inform earned media and social/digital programs, refines and sharpens messaging and content. We work closely with our strategic analytics/measurement colleagues and are regularly partnering with creative strategists and client leads to bring an integrated, holistic solution to brands. What You’ll Do as a Member of our Team 

  • Oversee and lead primary research projects (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Manage research projects from end-to-end: designing a research approach that aligns with clients’ goal
  • Manage budgets and teams on Tier 1 accounts with responsibility for profitability and incremental growth
  • Understand clients’ objectives and ensure research and insights deliverables meet those needs
  • Have a visible role within the agency and co-host training sessions (such as Booth Camps) that educate peers about research capabilities, tools and techniques
  • Present findings and insights to internal teams, clients and new business prospects
  • Be a skilled storyteller who uses data and insights to create a brand narrative.
  • Participate in agency collaborations to further the visibility and understanding of research capabilities across the Booth group
  • Grow and mentor junior staff and manage staff in concert with senior team members to help them grow, develop and achieve individual professional goals.
  • May manage up to 2 direct reports

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in communications or marketing research or social sciences
  • 5 - 7 years of research experience, preferably some experience working in an agency environment
  • Fluency in Outlook and MS Office and Google Workplace
  • Experience using Netbase Quid, SPSS or Q, Audiense, MRI-Simmons or equivalents are a plus
  • Experience managing projects, including budget tracking, timeline development and monitoring, client and internal team and vendor communications, reporting
  • Strong background in primary quantitative research, including sample design, questionnaire development, vendor/client management, programming, quality control and analysis of data
  • Strong secondary research skills, including trend identification"
  • Ability to consolidate findings from secondary and primary research into key takeaways, as well as exposure and experience in developing insights and communications or brand strategies
  • Strong client service, collaboration and relationship-building skills
  • Experience and desire to work within a collaborative team environment and with staff in a hybrid model across a variety of offices and time zones 
  • Experience managing at least one team member
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance and work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong writing and public speaking/presentation skills
  • Attention to detail in written and verbal communication
  • Positive and flexible attitude
  • Ability to help identify and vet new vendor partners as well as new research methodologies
  • Multicultural consumer research experience is a huge plus!
