Role: Account Director

Location: London, England, United Kingdom (hybrid working from our London offices 3 days a week)

About the role:

Working in partnership with our client, a leading specialist in travel insurance and customer-centric marketing. We're building a high-performing, agile team of 9-11 members to serve their four brands during a period of significant transformation. As Account Director, you'll be the single point of contact leading this newly formed team to drive measurable marketing impact and deliver best-in-class creative, digital, and performance marketing solutions. You'll integrate closely with the client's business, championing a test-and-learn approach while leveraging automation and AI tools in a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

What you will be doing:

  • Work in true collaboration with the client as Brand Guardian, ensuring the most positive client experience possible
  • Lead a small independent team as the single point of contact, working independently of large account structures
  • Collaborate closely with the client's internal stakeholders to define and execute a digital-first strategy
  • Ensure delivery of performance marketing goals with clear KPIs and reporting while championing creative excellence and strategic thinking
  • Be present in the client offices 3x per week to foster strong relationships and ensure seamless communication
  • Support TUPE-sensitive transitions and navigate organisational change with empathy and professionalism
  • Take overall financial control of accounts, including profitability, forecasting, late payments, and fee negotiation
  • Own project execution, run rates, and client satisfaction through regular catchups and weekly account management
  • Take accountability for delivery of growth targets for the account
  • Act as escalation point for client or internal SLA adherence issues, capturing and suggesting improvements
  • Negotiate win-win compromises with clients on behalf of team members where needed 
  • Identify new business opportunities through relationships, introducing Brandtech's capabilities where appropriate • Lead the implementation and integration of the new marketing team, replacing the client's existing structure

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Excellent client engagement skills with ability to proactively organise, influence clients, and build strong working relationships
  • Excellent account leadership skills with developed financial and commercial acumen, creative judgment, and strategic thinking
  • Proven track record of commercial growth across new and existing business with strong talent management capabilities
  • First-rate communication skills with ability to be articulate in person and writing, plus strong presentation skills with innate rapport building
  • Ability to operate independently while managing and developing junior team members
  • Clear understanding of all Brandtech group products and how to utilise this knowledge to the account's advantage
  • Understanding of how to integrate with client-side teams whilst maintaining top-tier agency service
  • Highly creative with ability to generate ideas and practically contribute to studio output
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software with experience in social and digital first accounts
  • Experience managing TUPE-sensitive transitions and leading teams through organisational change
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with regular in-office presence to support team cohesion and client engagement
