Director, Sales Engineer
Summary
The Sales Engineering team is responsible to support both the Pismo sales team and the regional Visa VAS team in the sales process by providing technical expertise and product knowledge for existing customers and prospects.
What you'll do
- The Director, Sales Engineering will support Pismo and Visa VAS sales teams in North America region working closely with CIO and CIO-1 level technologists, product owners and operations professionals to understand their needs
- Structure a value proposition when Pismo platform can help with value capture
- Assess gaps if any between their needs and platform capabilities
- Work with internal product architects to understand how to best fulfill those needs
- Answer formal RFPs, informal RFIs and other enquiries promptly and professionally
- Assess suitability of other partners in the ecosystem to fulfill client needs (when combined with the Pismo platform)
- The individual must be comfortable with banking payments domains. It is also important that this leader bring strong knowledge of the financial services industry including exposure to areas such as data protection, high availability, and the regulatory landscape.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- 10 or more years of work experience with payments and/or core banking solutions
- Experience conducting product demonstrations and presentations
- Previous experience with SaaS services and Cloud technologies
- Previous experience working with some of the largest financial institutions in the region or selling core banking and payments cards

- Demonstrated ability to partner with peers & seniors in other functional areas and across global regional teams (especially establishing rapport and credibility with product owners and technical architects);
- Ability to work independently within a complex and competitive environment and manage multiple initiatives.
- Experience managing multiple internal stakeholders to deliver commercial goals.
- Ability to drive a collaborative culture with key cross-functional stakeholders.
- High level of problem-solving and project management skills.
- Ability to travel regionally if required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a wide range of people, both internally and externally

- Deep knowledge of banking, credit cards clearing and payments
- Basic knowledge of payment regulations and clearing systems
- Basic knowledge of data privacy regulations
- Strong technical knowledge of cloud (at the level of Cloud Professional Architect Certification)
- Strong architecture knowledge of modern cloud-based development frameworks including microservices,
Desirable Qualifications
- APIs, CI-CD frameworks, data streaming – someone comingfrom an Engineering background in the above domains and looking to move to a pre-sales role would be a significant fit
- Knowledge of modern development languages (Golang, Java)
