Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Controllership to lead our core finance. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and people management. This is a critical role that requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaborative skills to drive the financial success of our business units.
The ideal candidate brings knowledge of IFRS, experience working with Big-4 audit firms, and a strong background in general ledger controllership and process optimization, especially related to POS device management and control enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Controllership
- Serve as the General Ledger (GL) Controller for the Point-of-Sale (POS) business, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely completion of all financial records and reports.
- Act as the Finance Controller for the Digital Bills business, overseeing all areas of finance, including business team collaboration and strategic financial planning.
- Lead and manage the entire month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with all accounting standards and internal policies.
POS Device Management & Control Improvement
- Oversee financial management and tracking of POS devices, including reconciliation, asset tracking, and loss prevention.
- Design and implement control improvements around POS inventory, deployment, and maintenance.
- Drive initiatives to automate and streamline control processes for operational efficiency.
Operational & Strategic Finance
- Manage and optimize working capital, including cash flow forecasting, accounts receivable, and inventory management.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate payments and compliance with all related statutory regulations.
- Manage all company bank account balances, including reconciliation.
- Lead and execute critical finance projects, such as accounting for mergers & acquisitions, system migrations, and other key business initiatives.
Audit & Compliance
- Serve as the primary lead for all statutory audits, internal audits, and other external reviews for the POS & Bill-Me books.
- Ensure strict adherence to all statutory compliances related to finance, accounts payable, and other relevant areas.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements, ensuring the company's full compliance.
Team & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 5-6 finance professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the team.
- Manage performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career development for all direct reports.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with business unit leaders and other department heads to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and achieve business objectives.
- Partner with technology teams on system enhancements and data integrity, particularly with knowledge of SAP HANA.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8 or more years of post qualification work experience in finance and accounting.
- Proven experience in a controllership or similar senior finance leadership role, with a strong emphasis on core finance.
- In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is highly desirable.
- Experience in the fintech sector is a significant plus.
- Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
Strong technical accounting skills with a comprehensive understanding of GL operations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
