The Role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a talented student to join the internship program at Schonfeld. You’ll spend ten weeks with our partner portfolio manager, Quantbot, in their Compliance division.

What You’ll Do

As a Compliance Intern with Quantbot, your responsibilities will include helping to prepare regulatory filings, collaborating with compliance staff to support the firm’s business units, designing and reviewing automated compliance monitoring reports, and ensuring adherence to compliance policies. You’ll also work on long-term projects to maintain the firm’s high compliance standards with new and existing regulations. Additionally, you’ll work regularly with the CCO in learning how we develop and implement policies and procedures for a registered investment adviser, with a specific emphasis on the Investment Advisers Act, the Investment Company Act, FINRA, and related rules and regulations.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the review of standard materials, including advertising, sales literature, correspondence, and RFP/RFI/DDQs.
  • Assisting in the 206(4)-7 annual review and amendments to Form ADV and other applicable regulatory reporting requirements with the SFC and FCA.
  • Helping to develop and conduct training and education to staff relating to policies and procedures and any amendments.
  • Learning how we managing and monitor electronic communications in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Staying up-to-date with regulatory changes, updating CCO on suggested adjustments to business practices.
  • Ganing a strong understanding of the regulatory environment, including the latest changes and trends

What You’ll Bring

What you need:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or related field
  • Excellent analytical abilities, verbal and written communication skills, and numeracy
  • Strong interest in financial services, investment advising, hedge funds, and compliance
  • Strong research skills and the ability to communicate research ideas clearly and succinctly
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (especially Gmail, Calendar, GDocs, and GSheets) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PP)
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Accomplishes tasks in a timely manner
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to to detail

Our Internship

The Schonfeld internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture.

Each intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience.  We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.

The annual base pay for this role is expected to be between $60,000 and $90,000 which will be prorated based on internship start and end date. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience and level of education.
