2025 Tax Sophomore Summer Intern

The Role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for talented students to join the internship program at Schonfeld. You’ll spend ten weeks within the Tax team where you will be immersed in the culture and atmosphere of Schonfeld, working alongside talented professionals on high profile projects.

This team falls under our Accounting department and collaborates closely with groups across the firm including Business Analytics, Fund Accounting, and Operations. The Tax team is responsible for tax planning and reporting as it relates to the funds, the management companies, and the family office. The tax team interacts with various groups within the firm on a regular basis as well as with external parties such as: investors, managers, fund administrator, and other service providers.

What you’ll need

• 2^nd year student in an undergraduate university pursuing a degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Program or technical degree such as computer science with an interest in tax or accounting
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, sumifs, index match, etc.)
• VBA, SQL and/or Python knowledge is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large sets of data
• Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate issues and solutions to different audiences
• Demonstrate sensitivity and judgment in handling confidential information
• Process and detail oriented with a strong work ethic and team-focused attitude
• Able to adapt to frequent changes in the business operating environment

• Highly organized and self-motivated
• An analytical mindset and an ability to come up with solutions to problems you encounter

Our internship

The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture.

Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience.  We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.

The annual base pay for this role is expected to be between $45,000 and $52,000 which will be prorated based on internship start and end date. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience and level of education.
