
Associate Counsel, Corporate
The Role
We are seeking to hire an exceptional individual to join our legal team as an Associate Counsel, Corporate. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our Director of Legal, Corporate and the other attorneys on our legal team to address various legal issues with respect to Schonfeld Strategic Advisors LLC (“Schonfeld”) and its funds, affiliates, portfolio managers and employees. This is a dynamic opportunity to work with local and global management and to blend your legal acumen with your desire to get closer to the business.
What you’ll do
You will review, negotiate, prepare and interpret general corporate contracts (including technology agreements (e.g., market data agreements, research agreements and technology hardware and software agreements), real estate leases, event contracts, recruiting and consulting agreements and other vendor agreements). Additional responsibilities will include assisting with entity management (i.e., entity creation, dissolution and restructuring), legal work for the family office, strategic transactions, private equity transactions, loan documents, corporate governance and regulatory matters. You will work alongside members of the legal team to advise Schonfeld’s leadership (including leaders within technology, real estate, communications, talent acquisition, human capital management, compliance, accounting, tax, business development, investor relations and operations) and external counsel and other advisers on significant legal matters.
What you’ll bring
What you need:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admittance to a state bar
- 3-5 years of experience with a law firm and/or as in-house counsel (preferably in the financial services, technology and/or family office industries)
- Superior legal analytical and drafting skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of work and projects for different stakeholders within Schonfeld
- Ability to effectively supervise external counsel
- Superior organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding, fast-paced and fluid environment, while maintaining superior attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse team of legal, compliance and other professionals at all levels
- Ability to identify and analyze commercial issues and provide advice to minimize legal risks, while assisting the business achieve its objective

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $175,000 and $250,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
