Slate is a new US company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space.
Who we are looking for
The NVH Attribute Engineer will lead the development and implementation of NVH attribute requirements, ensuring alignment with vehicle technical specifications and performance targets. This role will be responsible for defining and optimizing NVH attributes while overseeing the integration of engineering solutions to achieve vehicle-level performance objectives.
What you get to do
- Lead the development of vehicle-level targets for all NVH-related attributes.
- Ensure feasibility of NVH attributes through virtual analysis and physical validation.
- Oversee total vehicle integration of NVH requirements, feasibility, and validation.
- Lead a cross-functional team to identify and resolve integration and design issues throughout vehicle development.
- Conduct NVH attribute team meetings, collaborating with product development teams, including systems, components, packaging, manufacturing, and service.
- Ensure technical targets are established, optimized, and validated across all stages of the vehicle lifecycle.
- Guide a small team of cross-functional engineers to achieve NVH targets for current and future product plans.
- Manage key cross-functional impacts, including:
- Benchmarking NVH performance
- Vehicle performance optimization
- Weight management
- Durability & reliability assessment
- Additional vehicle attribute integration as needed.
What you bring to the Team
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
- 5+ years of experience in NVH with Vehicle development capability.
- Excellent communication Team building and relationship building skills.
- Ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail.
- Broad vehicle technical and vehicle development process knowledge including how to set technical targets, work with teams to determine feasibility (virtually and physically) and validate with statistical confidence.
- Design Release Engineering experience a plus
- Technical writing and documentation experience
- Functional experience with all NHTSA/FMVSS, CARB, EPA, FCC, or other regulatory requirements
