Who we are looking for:
Slate is looking for an energetic and organized Accessory Integration Testing Engineer to lead the team to develop SAPs (Slate Access Points) for vehicle accessorizing. This position will be responsible for understanding vehicle technical specifications and performance targets of all SAPs and then developing the appropriate validation of each SAP.
What you get to do:
- Develop Vehicle Level Targets for all SAPs, ensure feasibility virtually, and execute validation on complete vehicles (eventually).
- Lead vehicle integration of SAP requirements, feasibility and validation at the complete vehicle level.
- Identify and resolve integration and design issues with SAPs as the vehicle is developed.
- Lead SAP validation team meetings, working with all product development teams, including systems and components, packaging, manufacturing, and accessories to ensure technical targets are set, solutions are optimized for all stages of the vehicle's life, and validation is executed.
- Other responsibilities and functions include Benchmarking, Vehicle Performance, Weight Management, Durability & Reliability, HMI, and others to complete the full complement of vehicle attributes.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in component-level, system-level, and complete vehicle validation, with vehicle development capability. Design Release Engineering experience is a plus.
- Broad vehicle development process knowledge, including how to set technical targets, work with teams to determine feasibility (virtually and physically), and validate with statistical confidence.
- Technical writing and documentation experience is required.
- Functional experience with all NHTSA / FMVSS, CARB, EPA, FCC, or other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- Highly adaptable and proactive, excelling in fast-paced start-up and new model launch environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to travel (up to 10%).
- Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
