The Corporate Strategy team’s vision is to inspire our company’s leaders to take action in creating a better, stronger, more player-centric PlayStation for generations to come. Our goal is to bring clarity to the next ten years and do so in a way that fosters alignment and generates consensus with our leadership. This strategic vision is used to inspire our company’s executives to make meaningful change towards a brighter future by providing bold, tested and realistic scenarios in these uncertain times. We create this through rigorous research, generating data-driven narratives and frameworks, and by constantly connecting with teams across the broader gaming ecosystem; we use these ongoing discussions to build trust both inside and outside of SIE to battle test our plans and align our strategic priorities.

Sony PlayStation is seeking one Strategy MBA Interns to join the Corporate Strategy & Development team to help define the future of the gaming industry. Our team is responsible for mid-to-long term strategy, as well as our annual strategic planning. We work with CEOs and senior executives, as well as Business Unit to create strategic analyses and develop relevant insights to guide our executives. You will work across the entire organization to understand all aspects of PlayStation and work with the team to bring your project from ideation to the finish line where you will present your recommendations. This role is a unique opportunity to strengthen our business strategies with valuable analysis, data and consumer insights.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Identify and develop transformative growth and innovation strategies, while supporting complex strategic development projects
  • Perform research to identify new business opportunities to support PlayStation’s business expansion into new areas and assess existing lines of business
  • Develop, coordinate and implement plans crafted to increase existing business and capture new growth opportunities
  • Brainstorm and evaluate opportunities across the industry, performing a broad range of quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Organize and build executive level corporate strategy presentation documents, including applicable strategic frameworks
  • Build financial, operating, and predictive models to support strategic initiatives
  • Perform data driven analysis and interface with internal data and analytics teams
  • Manage complex working groups spanning engineering, product and business organizations
  • In performing duties, utilize an understanding of the interactive entertainment industry, including the industry value chain, competitive landscape, technologies, business models, game content, and industry trends.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current MBA student with 2+ years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, finance, gaming or tech
  • Projected to graduate by Spring 2026
  • Outstanding Microsoft Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate, discover, and comprehend diverse sets of information to tackle a complex problem and convert them into a simple presentable solution with a clear messaging
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity to steer his / her own work product and network within the company
  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate with outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with others at all levels and functions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, working through uncertainty under varied time constraints
  • Attention to detail, organization skills, and strong work ethic and ability to handle confidentiality
  • Clear passion for gaming, content, media, entertainment, and/or technology

 

Eligibility:

  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
  • Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
  •  Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

 

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. 

 

Intern Pay Range

$43.25 - $43.25 USD
