The Finance Data and Reporting (FDR) team within the Studios Business Group (SBG) is focused on streamlining the relevant data and reporting infrastructure to provide speedy and easy access to the relevant data and metrics needed for delivering strategic insights and recommendations, and for facilitating informed business decisions to achieve our financial objectives.

We are currently looking for a Business Analyst – TM1/IBM Planning Analytics to aid in achieving our goals.  The information below details the role and what we are looking for in a candidate.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to users of finance planning application (IBM Planning Analytics/ TM1 application) throughout the Planning cycle (annual budget and quarterly forecast)
  • Provide first-line support for Finance users and assist with the triage of change requests; dive deep to resolve problems at their root looking for failure patterns and suggesting fixes
  • Assist FP&A and technical teams to achieve operational improvements as per the departmental roadmap
  • Work alongside development team on workstreams such as requirements gathering and test case preparation; assist with delivery of system upgrades and improvements via unit testing, documentation, training & user handover activities
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers
  • Understand data flows and make them more dependable/repeatable strengthening links to other enterprise tools
  • Challenge status quo and identify process improvement opportunities to drive innovation

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of finance principles, with previous experience working on financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process, and interacting with finance analysts
  • Ability to interact with and manage expectations with users at all seniority levels across the organization
  • 2+ years IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 development experience (v2.0 or higher), or familiarity with and knowledge of:
    • fundamentals of planning analytics architecture
    • cube and rules concepts
    • ability to interpret rules and TI coding/process, security setup, chores, MDX, SQL queries
    • experience of using planning analytics Rest API (preferably via cubewise’s canvas product)
    • experience in preparing test cases
    • systems business partner experience
  • In lieu of TM1, experience with Oracle Hyperion, SAP BPC, or any other OLAP financial planning tool will be considered
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

Additional Skills (Good to Have)

  • Exposure to master data management solutions
  • Experience with Cognos BI integration
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo in pursuit of process excellence
  • Lean/Six Sigma process improvement Methodologies
  • Knowledge of Python / TM1Py Beneficial
  • Experience with object orientated programming would be beneficial
  • Computer Science/Finance/Economics/Statistical Background
  • Desire to further Technical Knowledge/Skillsets

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.

$47 - $71 USD
